New England Patriots QB Jacoby Brissett could "absolutely" be the starter in 2023, according to head coach Jared Mayo on Sunday, March 24.
Huddle Up: It's more likely that the Patriots will select a quarterback at No. 3 overall despite them saying they are open to all options. Brissett would not hold any usable fantasy value if he's the starter.

Free-agent WR K.J. Osborn (Vikings) is signing with the Minnesota Vikings, per sources on Sunday, March 17. The terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Huddle Up: Osborn joins a Patriots team that is very thin at wide receiver right now, which gives him a shot to carve out a solid role for himself. That said, it's hard to project what kind of value he'll have at the moment, as the Pats may make more additions at the position and don't have a set quarterback. Osborn is someone to keep an eye on late in drafts.

Impending free-agent QB Jacoby Brissett (Commanders) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the New England Patriots Monday, March 11, worth $8 million, according to a source.
Huddle Up: There is a chance that Brissett will start the season as the starting quarterback next season if they do not want to rush a rookie quarterback into the lineup. He could be a low-end No. 2 fantasy quarterback in deeper leagues but probably can be avoided in most leagues since he may not start for long.

Impending free agent RB Antonio Gibson (Commanders) agreed to an undisclosed deal with the New England Patriots, according to sources Monday, March 11. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Huddle Up: Gibson is likely heading toward another complementary role with Rhamondre Stevenson still leading the Patriots backfield. Without an injury ahead of him, it's difficult to see him providing more than fringe RB2 value.

New England Patriots WR Kendrick Bourne (knee) has agreed to a three-year deal worth up to $33 million to re-sign with the Patriots, according to his agent.
Huddle Up: Bourne has posted pedestrian numbers throughout his career, but he was enjoying his best season before suffering a knee injury. Bourne is expected to be ready for camp, but unless the Patriots can solve their quarterback issues, it is tough to expect much from Bourne or any other New England receiver.

New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry agreed to a three-year deal worth $27 million with a max value of $30 million, according to sources Friday, March 8.
Huddle Up: Henry will be staying put in New England likely working with a rookie quarterback. He's a back-end TE1 with touchdown upside in any given week.

New England Patriots impending free-agent WR Kendrick Bourne received an undisclosed contract proposal from the team.
Huddle Up: Bourne had a 37-406-4 line in eight games last season, and with good health, he could be a WR3 or WR4 possibility.

New England Patriots impending free-agent TE Hunter Henry is a player the team would like to re-sign this offseason, but he likely will hit the free-agent market. The two sides are not close to an agreement at this time.
Huddle Up: The Patriots have a little over a week to reach a deal with Henry before he can start talking with other teams. He will be a starter no matter where he signs and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in most leagues.

New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson said he wants to be the featured back for the Patriots next season.
Huddle Up: Stevenson shared playing time with Ezekiel Elliott during most of the 2023 season but missed several games late in the season because of an injury. He probably will share playing time again in 2024 but can be at least a flex option most weeks.

New England Patriots WR Demario Douglas' 49 receptions in 2023 were the most ever by a rookie receiver under head coach Bill Belichick.
Huddle Up: Belichick won't be in New England next year, but the fact that Douglas was able to achieve such a rare level of production under Belichick speaks to the receivers upside. For a New England offense lacking playmakers, Douglas should have a significant role in 2024.

New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Jan. 5, and has been ruled out for Week 18.
Huddle Up: Mike Gesicki should be the top tight end for the Patriots this week with Henry unavailable. He probably will see a handful of targets during the game but probably can be avoided in most leagues.

New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 4.
Huddle Up: Henry is an important part of the passing game for the Patriots, so fantasy players will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if he plays in Week 18. He can be a No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues if active.

Washington Commanders QB Jacoby Brissett (hamstring) was limited in practice on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
Huddle Up: Brissett was in line to start in Week 17 before suffering a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the game. Head coach Ron Rivera has already named Sam Howell the starter for Week 18, thus Brissett can be ignored.

The Washington Commanders will name their starting quarterback for Week 18 on Wednesday, Jan. 3, head coach Ron Rivera said on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
Huddle Up: After being named the starter last week, Jacoby Brissett came down with an injury that led to Sam Howell getting the nod. But the second-year signal-caller continued his streak of poor performances, which will put an ugly cap on what was a solid sophomore campaign for Howell, who ranked as QB4 overall through Week 13. He needs to be held in dynasty formats, as there's hope for him in the future if the Commanders can get things right with a new regime in 2024.

Washington Commanders QB Jacoby Brissett (hamstring) has been declared inactive for the Week 17 game.
Huddle Up: Brissett was on track to start this week but the injury during practice will sideline him for at least one game. Sam Howell will return as the starting quarterback but should be avoided in all leagues.

New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry (knee) is not active for Week 17's game against the Buffalo Bills.
Huddle Up: Henry had been listed as questionable on the injury report after being a limited practice participant throughout the week. However, he will wind up missing his second consecutive game. None of the Patriots' backups at tight end should be considered viable fantasy options.

New England Patriots WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 30.
Huddle Up: With Smith-Schuster out for the final two games, Demario Douglas is a solid flex option, but the rest of the wideouts aren't trustworthy options for fantasy managers to rely on.

Washington Commanders QB Sam Howell is expected to start in Week 17, as QB Jacoby Brissett (hamstring) is not expected to play due to a hamstring injury, per source on Saturday, Dec. 30.
Huddle Up: Brissett was named the starter earlier in the week but is now dealing with a hamstring injury that will sideline him. Howell ranks as QB10 overall this season but can't be trusted in Week 17 after playing terribly the last two weeks and with a difficult matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on tap.

New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 29, and is listed as questionable for Week 17.
Huddle Up: Henry should have a good chance to play this week, but fantasy players will need to check the inactive list for his official status. He will see a good amount of targets if he plays and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in leagues.

New England Patriots WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 29, and has been ruled out for Week 17.
Huddle Up: Demario Douglas and DeVante Parker likely will be the main receivers for the Patriots with Smith-Schuster unavailable. Douglas could be a flex option in some leagues, but Parker can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Washington Commanders QB Jacoby Brissett (hamstring) is listed as questionable on the team's Week 17 injury report on Friday, Dec. 29, after he suffered a hamstring injury in practice on Thursday, Dec. 28.
Huddle Up: Only in Washington does this kind of thing seem to happen. Brissett was just named the Week 17 starter a few days ago to give the struggling Sam Howell a chance to breathe. Unless this hamstring injury is relatively minor, it appears as though Howell may go right back under center against what should be an angry San Francisco 49ers defense. Assuming Howell plays, consider the 49ers DST a great option and downgrade most of the Commanders' skill position players, including Terry McLaurin.
