Houston Texans RBs Buddy Howell and Karan Higdon will compete for the No. 3 running back job during training camp, according to Danny Barrett. The winner of the job likely will have to contribute on special teams.

Michigan RB Karan Higdon, who measured 5-foot-9 1/8, 206 pounds, with 30 3/4-inch arms and 9 5/8-inch hands, ran an official 4.49-second 40-yard dash Friday, March 1, at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine. He posted 21 reps on the 225-pound bench press, a 34-inch vertical jump, and a 123-inch broad jump.

Michigan RB Karan Higdon announced Thursday, Dec. 20, that he will enter the 2019 NFL Draft. In doing so, Higdon will skip the Peach Bowl.
