Houston Texans impending free-agent TE Dalton Schultz reportedly agreed to terms on a three-year contract worth $36 million - including $23.5 million fully guaranteed - to remain with the team on Tuesday, March 5, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Schultz got off to a bit of a slow start in his first year in Houston, but he made up for lost time by scoring five touchdowns over a seven-week period. Although he doesn't usually offer much after the catch, this past year marked the fourth straight season in which he managed at least 57 catches, 577 receiving yards and four touchdowns. That is a relatively high floor at such a scarce position in fantasy football, which should make him an attractive low-end TE1 again in 2024.

Houston Texans impending free-agent TE Dalton Schultz is a candidate for the franchise tag if the two sides are not able to reach a contract agreement before the deadline Tuesday, March 5.
Huddle Up: Schultz was a reliable option in the passing game when healthy and appears to be on track to stay with the Texans for at least one more season. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

Houston Texans impending free-agent TE Dalton Schultz said he would like to re-sign with the Texans this offseason and believes the two sides will be able to reach an agreement.
Huddle Up: Schultz posted 635 receiving yards and five touchdowns during the regular season and probably will receive interest from several teams if he hits the free-agent market. He will see a good amount of targets if he remains with the Texans and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in most leagues.
