Detroit Lions RB Isiah Pacheco (knee) suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament, but he should be ready for Week 1, according to head coach Dan Campbell.
Huddle Up: Pacheco has had trouble staying healthy, which is the reason he took a backup job in Detroit. The Lions are thin at running back behind Pacheco with Sione Vaki also nicked up and former UFL standout Jacob Saylors. Saylors could be a speculative handcuff to Jahmyr Gibbs if Pacheco's recovery is prolonged.

Free-agent RB Isiah Pacheco (Chiefs) officially signed with the Detroit Lions Thursday, March 12.
Huddle Up: Pacheco should fill the void left by the departure of David Montgomery, but with Jahmyr Gibbs emerging as one of the elite backs in the game, Pacheco will likely be more of a handcuff than a weekly starting option.

Impending free-agent RB Isiah Pacheco (Chiefs) reportedly agreed to terms on a contract with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday, March 10. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Pacheco will undoubtedly be seen as a replacement for the David Montgomery role in the Lions' offense. Pacheco will have his work cut out for him, though, to carve out a meaningful and reliable fantasy role. He can be monitored to see how he is used in the preseason, but he does not have much fantasy value at this time due to Jahmyr Gibbs being ahead of him on the depth chart.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco is "likely to sign elsewhere" in free agency, according to The Athletic's Jesse Newell.
Huddle Up: Pacheco and the Chiefs' run game quit being efficient for a lot of the 2025 season for long stretches. The team is being mocked with new running back options for the 2026 NFL Draft, which leaves him looking for a fresh start, more than likely. He may not be an RB1 or RB2, but in deeper leagues, he could be worth a late-round flyer in the right landing spot.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco (non-injury) has been declared inactive for the Week 18 game.
Huddle Up: Kareem Hunt should receive most of the work at running back this week and can be a No. 2 running back or flex option in all fantasy leagues.

DT Jerry Tillery (non-injury) did not practice and is listed as questionable. DE George Karlaftis (non-injury), RB Isiah Pacheco (non-injury) and OT Jaylon Moore (knee) were limited during practice and are listed as questionable. Kansas City Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco (non-injury) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 2, and is listed as questionable for Week 18.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to check the inactive list to see if Pacheco will be available for the game. He will likely share playing time with Kareem Hunt if he plays and can be a flex option in fantasy leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco (non-injury) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Jan. 1.
Huddle Up: Assuming the Chiefs decide to play Pacheco with nothing at stake in the finale, he could be headed for a big workload. Kareem Hunt has yet to practice due to an illness.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco (non-injury) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Huddle Up: Pacheco has seen a slight boost in usage over the last few games, and with Kareem Hunt dealing with an illness, Pacheco could lead the backfield in touches in the finale. That being said, the Chiefs' offense is relying on a third-string quarterback, so Pacheco isn't likely to have much upside.
