Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers and QB Mason Rudolph will not play in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 21, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. QB Will Howard will start the game, while QB Drew Allar will also receive playing time.
Huddle Up: The Steelers seem set with Rodgers as the starting quarterback and Rudolph as the backup but could also keep Howard and Allar on the roster. Rodgers posted some decent numbers last season but will not be more than a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers third-round pick QB Drew Allar is having everything he has learned "uninstalled," and the Steelers are teaching him new mechanics and footwork. Head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterbacks coach Tom Arth are working on widening Allar's base and keeping him off of his toes, which they believe will give him more time to process information for quicker decisions.
Huddle Up: Allar has some dynasty value, but it's very unlikely he's an option for single-year leagues with this depth of instruction taking place.

Huddle Up: Pittsburgh is still waiting to see if Aaron Rodgers will return next season, and in the meantime, they added Allar to the quarterback room. Allar's has the physical tools that teams look for in a quarterback, but he struggled with consistency in college. Still, his upside is worth taking a chance on in keeper formats in case he becomes the long-term answer for the Steelers.
