Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph will operate as the backup to QB Aaron Rodgers this season, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor, who writes that there is a "gulf" between Rudolph and young QBs Drew Allar and Will Howard, though Pryor expects the Steelers to keep all four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster.

Huddle Up: Both quarterbacks are backups to Aaron Rodgers, who goes into his 22nd and presumably final season as the Steelers' starting quarterback. The only way Howard and/or Allar would have value in fantasy is with a Rodgers injury, but both Howard and Allar shouldn't be drafted.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers and QB Mason Rudolph will not play in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 21, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. QB Will Howard will start the game, while QB Drew Allar will also receive playing time.
Huddle Up: The Steelers seem set with Rodgers as the starting quarterback and Rudolph as the backup but could also keep Howard and Allar on the roster. Rodgers posted some decent numbers last season but will not be more than a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterbacks coach Tom Arth are working on widening Allar's base and keeping him off of his toes, which they believe will give him more time to process information for quicker decisions.
