Auburn WR Anthony Schwartz was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 91st overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: A speedy lot receiver, Schwartz should be able to stretch the field vertically from Day 1, but he is unlikely to provide the week-to-week production to make a worthwhile impact for fantasy owners.

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield has not started contract extension talks with the Browns at this point, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Mayfield is under contract for two more seasons, so the Browns can take their time in negotiations. Mayfield posted solid numbers this past season but probably will be a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield had his fifth-year option exercised Friday, April 23. The deal extends him through 2022, and he'll earn $18.86 million that season.
Huddle Up: Mayfield busted out as a surefire QB1 last year. He has some bust potential, but he'll be in the mid-to-low QB1 area.

Cleveland Browns WR Rashard Higgins averaged 11.5 receiving yards per target in 2020 -- a figure which trailed only Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (11.7) among qualifiers last season.
Huddle Up: Higgins hit a career high with 599 receiving yards in 2020 and matched his season-best mark with four touchdown receptions but problem remains getting enough targets (52 in 2020) as the No. 3 wideout on a run-heavy team in which six pass-catchers saw at least 38 targets a season ago. He's a WR5 for fantasy, who possesses decent upside if Odell Beckham Jr. continues to battle injuries.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb leads the league with 34 runs of at least 20 yards since 2018, according to Pro Football Focus.
Huddle Up: Part of the reason Chubb stands atop the leaderboard in 20-yard runs is that he also ranked first in the league in "elusiveness rating" per PFF. Even though Kareem Hunt capped his upside a bit and a knee injury cost him four games last year, Chubb still ran for more than 1,000 yards and generally operated at a low-end fantasy RB1 level at the very least. That should be the expectation again in 2021.

Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. (knee) is on track with his recovery, according to general manager Andrew Berry.
Huddle Up: Beckham should be ready for training camp and will work on regaining a connection with Baker Mayfield. He is one of the better receivers in the NFL when healthy and can be a weekly starting option in all leagues.

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku is a candidate to be released or traded this offseason as heads into the non-guaranteed fifth option year of his rookie contract, and Saturday, Feb. 27, he tweeted what sounds like a goodbye to Browns fans. 'Whatever happens I appreciate all the love from all my loyal fans,' Njoku wrote. 'I've kept quiet for a while but I wanted to express that at least for now. I love u guys.'
Huddle Up: Njoku caught only 19 passes for 213 yards in 13 regular-season games a year after missing all but four games with a wrist injury in 2019, and it sure seems like he will be playing elsewhere with the salary cap dipping and the Browns set elsewhere at tight end.

Cleveland Browns impending free-agent WR Rashard Higgins said he would like to return to the Browns, but the team has not made a contract offer at this point. The Browns are interested in re-signing Higgins but only at a certain price, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Higgins posted a career-high 599 yards this season and will receive some interest if he hits the free-agent market. He has a chance to be a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues next season depending on his situation.

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield will have his fifth-year option exercised this offseason.
Huddle Up: Mayfield played better this season and showed good chemistry with his receivers. He has not thrown for more than 27 touchdowns in any season and probably can be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback next season.

Cleveland Browns WR Donovan Peoples-Jones ranked fourth among rookie wide receivers with 1.83 receiving yards per route run in 2020, according to Pro Football Focus.
Huddle Up: Peoples-Jones emerged late in the season after WR Odell Beckham Jr. was lost to injury. He could take on an increased role if WR Rashard Higgins is allowed to leave via free agency but seems likely to be the third or fourth option in the passing game next season behind Beckham, WR Jarvis Landry and TE Austin Hooper.

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku has declined to say if wants to be back with the team next season. 'I just found myself in a position where I'm upset with the playing time, but this team that I'm on is winning and I don't want to ruin it for anybody else around me,' Njoku said Friday, Feb. 4, in an interview on the Jim Rome Show. 'I don't want to ruin it for myself.'
Huddle Up: With newly acquired tight ends Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant combining for 70 receptions and 673 yards and that seven TDs, Njoku only had 19 catches for 213 yards and a pair of scores in 13 games and essentially was a forgotten man in the Cleveland offense. Njoku is heading into the option year on his rookie deal, but it's not guaranteed until the first day of the new league year on March 17, so there's a definite chance he could be playing elsewhere next season.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb led the NFL with 4.1 yards after contact per carry in 2020, and he has averaged at least 3.8 yards after contact per carry in all three of his seasons.
Huddle Up: Chubb has been the model of consistency, averaging at least 5.0 yards per carry in each of his three seasons while rushing for at least 996 yards and eight touchdowns. Even with Kareem Hunt also in the mix, Chubb is a safe bet to deliver RB1 numbers in 2021.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb is Pro Football Focus' highest-graded running back (92.9) since he entered the league in 2018.
Huddle Up: Don't be misled by Chubb's season-ending totals as he missed games (four with a knee injury) for the first time in his three pro seasons. He finished seventh among running backs (min. 8 games played) with an averaged of 17.5 fantasy points per game and that was with a career-low 16 receptions last season. He's a locked-in RB1 heading into next season.

Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. (knee) is on track in his recovery from surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to general manager Andrew Berry.
Huddle Up: Beckham has battled injuries and inconsistent play in recent years, and he has become more of a boom-or-bust fantasy option in Cleveland's run-heavy offense. Still, he should offer WR2 upside in 2021 as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks during the offseason.

Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. (knee) received a strong indication from head coach Kevin Stefanski on Monday, Jan. 18, that he will not be traded as he continues to recover from his torn anterior cruciate ligament. 'I texted with him this morning. I know he's working really hard to get better in his rehab. I'm excited to get him back here,' Stefanski said of Beckham during a virtual interview on Monday.
Huddle Up: Beckham is two months into his ACL rehab and signed through the end of the 2023 season, so a trade was always an unlikely proposition. Making things more difficult for a deal to get done is that he is already 28 years old and has dealt with injuries in four straight seasons. The Browns can always decide to go more pass-heavy in the future, but they seem intent on relying on the running game under Stefanski. As a result, a healthy Beckham needs to be viewed as a high-upside WR2 in fantasy in 2021.

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield could be approached about a contract extension during the offseason, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who said that the team is now 'all in' and believes that Mayfield is their 'franchise quarterback.' Rapoport also added that there is 'no rush' on the extension with Mayfield under team control for the next two seasons if the club exercises its fifth-year option.
Huddle Up: Mayfield made strides under Kevin Stefanski and almost led the Browns to an upset of the Chiefs on Sunday afternoon. He's still looking like more of a QB2 heading into 2021, especially given the strength of the running game, but the arrow certainly appears to be pointed up.

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (hamstring) is expected to play in the AFC Divisional Round game versus the Kansas City Chiefs.
Huddle Up: Njoku had been listed as questionable on the injury report after logging just one limited practice session during the week. He should not be viewed as a recommended fantasy option this week because Austin Hooper is serving as the Browns' primary tight end.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) practiced in full all week and was left off the injury report for the AFC Divisional Round game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Huddle Up: Landry should be expected to get a full complement of snaps in what should be a high-scoring game. As a player who should be considered a lock for at least seven or eight targets, he's a solid mid-priced receiver option in DFS with significant upside.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) practiced in full for a second consecutive day Thursday, Jan. 14.
Huddle Up: It's pretty easy to tell when Landry's hip stopped being an issue. Beginning with Week 12, he has scored four times and averaged 6.5 catches for 76.8 yards. Prior to that, those averages were 3.8 and 47.1 and zero scores. Cleveland is expected to be in a shootout this weekend with the Kansas City Chiefs, putting Landry in a potential spot to exceed his mid-range price tag in DFS.

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (hamstring) won't practice Thursday, Jan. 14, but is making progress, head coach Kevin Stefanski said.
Huddle Up: Njoku caught his only target for seven yards Sunday in the Browns' wild-card win over the Steelers, but only played 21 offensive snaps (31 percent). It sounds like Njoku has a chance to ramp things up in time to play this Sunday in Kansas City, but Austin Hooper (7 catches for 46 yards and a TD) is the Cleveland tight end to be trusted.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) was a full participant at practice Wednesday, Jan. 13.
Huddle Up: Landry was one of the best players on the field for the Browns in the AFC Wild Card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He caught five of eight targets for 92 yards and a touchdown. He'll be relied on heavily once again in a very pass-heavy matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 8, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game.
Huddle Up: Landry will be one of the focal points in the passing game for the Browns and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues this week.

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (concussion) cleared the league's concussion protocols Friday, Jan. 8, and is listed as questionable for the AFC Wild Card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Huddle Up: Peoples-Jones came on a bit at the end of the regular season and will likely see a few more snaps than usual as a result of KhaDarel Hodge being unable to play. However, he will probably be used in a field-stretching role in a difficult matchup with Jarvis Landry and Rashard Higgins absorbing the bulk of short and intermediate routes.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 7. The Browns did not hold a practice Thursday, so this is an estimation.
Huddle Up: Landry is the top option in the passing game for the Browns and posted very good numbers during the second half of the season. He can be a starting option in all fantasy leagues this week.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Jan. 6. The Browns did not hold a practice Wednesday, so this is an estimation.
Huddle Up: Landry played well during the second half of the season and will continue to be the main option in the passing game for the Browns. He can be a starting option in most fantasy leagues this week.

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield went 17-for-27 for 196 yards and one touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17. He also rushed for 44 yards on six carries during the game. RB Nick Chubb rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries, while RB Kareem Hunt rushed for 37 yards on 10 carries. WR Rashard Higgins caught two passes for 55 yards on three targets, WR Jarvis Landry rushed for a three-yard touchdown and caught five passes for 51 yards on six targets. TE Austin Hooper caught four passes for 37 yards and one touchdown on five targets.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 1, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.
Huddle Up: Landry missed the last game because he was on the COVID-19 list but will receive his normal workload for Week 17. He can be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in all fantasy leagues.

Cleveland Browns WR Rashard Higgins on Thursday, Dec. 31, was activated off the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
Huddle Up: Higgins will be back after sitting out Week 16 as a close contact and is a WR3/flex consideration.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry on Thursday, Dec. 31, was activated off the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
Huddle Up: Great news for the Browns, QB Baker Mayfield and Landry's fantasy owners as he had been enjoying his best stretch of the season prior to sitting out Week 15 with 29 catches for 318 yards and three TDs from Weeks 12-15. He's a WR2 option Sunday against the Steelers.

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield said Wednesday, Dec. 30, that the playoffs start in Week 17 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he added that he lives for these moments. 'Just to be honest with you guys, the mentality here is we're in our playoffs just one week early,' Mayfield said. 'It's win or go home. That's the mentality for our guys. These are the moments you ask for. When you're little, you dream of playing in the game where it comes down to you have the ball in your hands and you want to take care of business. It comes down to the moments when you have to win.'
Huddle Up: Mayfield and the Browns are favored by about a touchdown to top the Pittsburgh Steelers, who will rest Ben Roethlisberger with the AFC North Division title sewn up. But the Browns still need to execute. They were missing the top four receivers last week due to COVID-19, and it will be interesting to see what cadre of receivers Mayfield will get to play with in the finale. He will likely be passing early and often, which bodes well for his fantasy value and DFS appeal in Week 17.
