Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield said he has been working on a change to his footwork that offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt asked him to try out. He said he is getting more comfortable with the new footwork.
Huddle Up: Mayfield is coming off a disappointing 2019 season but will still have a lot of weapons to work with in the passing game. Fantasy players should consider Mayfield a No. 2 quarterback at this point, but he has a chance to be a No. 1 fantasy quarterback if he improves his play.

Cleveland Browns rookie WR Donovan Peoples-Jones has been doing his best to learn from veteran receivers on the team, according to WR Jarvis Landry Thursday, May 21. 'From being around him the last two months, I see already that he is a hard worker,' Landry said. 'I see that he is eager to learn, and those are some of the things that I appreciate about him.' Peoples-Jones said he also met with WR Odell Beckham Jr. prior to the 2020 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Peoples-Jones will be competing with the likes of Rashard Higgins, KhaDarel Hodge and Damion Ratley for playing time and targets behind the Browns' top receiving duo. The sixth-round pick can be a late target in dynasty leagues, but there's little room for him to emerge in time to have value in redraft leagues.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) said he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from hip surgery and hopes to be ready for football activities in August.
Huddle Up: Landry may not play a lot in the preseason but appears to be on track for Week 1. He has caught at least 80 passes in every year since entering the NFL and posted the third 1,000-yard season in his career in 2019. He is a reliable option for fantasy players and should be a weekly starting option in all leagues.
Posted 5/20/2020 8:53 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns sixth-round draft choice WR Donovan Peoples-Jones signed a four-year contract with the Browns Wednesday, May 20. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Peoples-Jones may have a chance to win the No. 3 receiver job with the Browns, so fantasy players should keep an eye on him during training camp. He could be a late round option in deeper leagues but probably will not have a lot of fantasy value.
Posted 5/20/2020 8:38 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns fourth-round draft choice TE Harrison Bryant signed a four-year contract with the Browns Wednesday, May 20. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Harrison may only see limited targets during his rookie season since he is behind Austin Hooper and David Njoku on the depth chart. He can be avoided in standard leagues in 2020.
Posted 5/18/2020 11:12 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb forced 66 missed tackles during the 2019 season, which ranked second among running backs.
Huddle Up: Chubb finished second the NFL with 1,494 yards and also rushed for eight touchdowns. He will be working a new offense next season but should continue to receive a lot of carries. He should be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.
Posted 5/15/2020 12:08 am UTC
Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb is the only running back since 2006 to average four-plus yards after contact per carry for his career, according to Pro Football Focus.
Huddle Up: Chubb remained a valuable fantasy commodity while splitting time with RB Kareem Hunt in the second half of the 2019 season. He remains atop the backfield depth chart and can be drafted as a low-end RB1, even in the timeshare.
Posted 5/14/2020 2:19 am UTC
Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. struggled for the bulk of the 2019 season for several reasons - including a core muscle injury - but another factor that contributed to his poor first year with Cleveland was that only 59.7 percent of his targets were deemed catchable, according to Pro Football Focus. Over his first five seasons with the New York Giants, his catchable target percentage was 64.9.
Huddle Up: A lot of things went wrong for the Browns last season, so while this statistic would suggest Baker Mayfield is to blame, the truth of the matter is that he was only part of the problem. Beckham was rarely ever healthy and the offensive line didn't hold up its end of the bargain either, contributing to a number of Mayfield's off-target throws. Beckham should be expected to bounce back in a big way and be a strong WR1 option in 2020, especially if he can avoid another injury-plagued campaign.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb has forced a league-high 110 missed tackles on rushing attempts since 2018 - making him only one of three backs to record at least 100 over that stretch - according to Pro Football Focus.
Huddle Up: The Browns have an embarrassment of riches at running back, as Kareem Hunt is no slouch when it comes to breaking tackles either. With that said, Chubb is one of the best pure runners in the league. While there is no certainty head coach Kevin Stefanski will maintain the same arrangement that led to both backs thriving during the second half of last season, it's a good bet Chubb will see a steady dose of 15 carries per game . Owners should consider him a solid RB2 option with RB1 upside in 2020.
Posted 5/07/2020 2:32 am UTC
Cleveland Browns RB Kareem Hunt has forced 123 missed tackles on running attempts since 2017 - the second-highest total in the league over that span.
Huddle Up: It's an extraordinary number considering Hunt has missed 13 games in the last two seasons. It's anyone's guess as to whether or not new head coach Kevin Stefanski will pick up where his predecessor (Freddie Kitchens) left off in terms of how Cleveland split the backfield usage between Nick Chubb and Hunt once the latter returned from his suspension. If Stefanski doesn't change something that seemed to work so well in 2019, Hunt would be a strong flex option and could have sneaky RB2 upside.

Cleveland Browns WR Rashard Higgins has a good chance to win the No. 3 receiver job during training camp in part because of his chemistry with QB Baker Mayfield, in the opinion of The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot. Higgins likely will compete with WR Donovan Peoples-Jones for the job.
Huddle Up: Higgins is coming off a disappointing 2019 season but did post 572 yards and four touchdowns in 2018. Fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation, but Higgins probably can be avoided in most drafts even if he wins the job.
Posted 5/03/2020 9:53 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield completed 66.8 percent of his passes in between one and 20 yards in 2019 - the lowest such mark in the league.
Huddle Up: Mayfield was one of several quarterbacks who didn't get a ton of help from his offensive line and dealt with injuries to important playmakers (Odell Beckham Jr. and David Njoku, in this case). The Browns most definitely upgraded their offensive line in the offseason and should be getting a healthy OBJ back, so Mayfield could easily return to the form that had fantasy owners buzzing after his rookie year in 2020.

Free-agent WR Rashard Higgins (Browns) reached agreement on a one-year contract with the Cleveland Browns Tuesday, April 28, according to a league source. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
Huddle Up: Higgins can be expected to reprise his role as the No. 3 receiver behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry. He played 10 games last season but made just one start, and finished the year with four receptions for 55 yards and one touchdown. He racked up 572 yards and four scores in 2018, before the addition of Beckham, but he won't be a fantasy consideration in 2020 unless Beckham or Landry were to miss an extended amount of time.
Posted 4/27/2020 6:14 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku had his fifth-year option exercised Monday, April 27, according to a source.
Huddle Up: The Browns added Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant this offseason, so Njoku's role in the offense is uncertain at this point. Fantasy players can keep an eye on his situation during training camp, but he is not more than a No. 2 tight end in deeper leagues.
Posted 4/19/2020 5:12 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. has not been involved in any trade talks this offseason, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Beckham has posted at least 1,000 yards in five of his first six seasons in the NFL but has six touchdowns or less in each of the last three seasons. He remains one of the better receivers in the league and should be a weekly starting fantasy option.
Posted 4/18/2020 4:45 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr., likely won't be traded to the Minnesota Vikings as recently rumored, but sources believe it's only a matter of time before Beckham is dealt as he 'isn't a good fit with quarterback Baker Mayfield.'
Huddle Up: There will be little argument from fantasy GMs who spent a high pick on OBJ last summer only to see him struggle through a 74-catch, 1,035-yard, four-touchdown season that ranked 31st in total fantasy points at the position. It figures to only get better in Year 2, but be very wary of putting much stock in him as a WR1.
Posted 4/17/2020 11:06 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns restricted free-agent RB Kareem Hunt signed his one-year tender offer Friday, April 17, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Hunt likely will continue to share playing time with Nick Chubb next season. He will be involved in the running and passing game next season and can be considered a No. 3 running back or flex options in leagues.
Posted 4/16/2020 7:51 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr., continuing an ongoing storyline, is not being traded, according to Browns chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta. He told Cleveland media Thursday, April 16, the team is not exploring trade options for Beckham.
Huddle Up: Beckham's first year in Cleveland wasn't anything special by Beckham standards, as he caught 74 balls for 1,035 yards and four TDs and was a top-30 WR in standard PPR scoring. In early fantasy drafts, OBJ, who still has tremendous upside, is going around 40th overall, 12th among wideouts, which is a fair place for him after failing to hit double-digit TDs in each of the past three seasons.
Posted 4/15/2020 5:06 pm UTC
The 2020 season will be a very important year for Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield, according to Dan Labbe, of Mayfield is under contract for the next two seasons and the Browns have a fifth-year option on him for 2022, which has to be exercised by May 3, 2021. He could be in line to help reset the quarterback pay market if Mayfield plays like he did at the end of the 2018 campaign.
Huddle Up: Mayfield's completion percent (59.4%) and passing touchdowns (22) were down in 2019, while his interceptions climbed from 14 in '18 to 21 last year. The third-year pro has the weapons around him and should be considered a QB2 with upside in fantasy drafts this summer.
Posted 4/15/2020 3:40 pm UTC
The Minnesota Vikings may be interested in trading for Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr., according to WFAN 660's Marc Malusis. He reports the two sides have had discussions that would send OBJ from Cleveland to Minnesota for second- and fifth-round draft picks next year.
Huddle Up: Any fire to the smoke? Time will tell, but OBJ would continue to have WR1 potential catching passes from QB Kirk Cousins.
Posted 4/06/2020 2:12 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb was tied for the league lead, with Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones, with 32 broken tackles last season.
Huddle Up: Chubb rushed for 1,494 yards and eight touchdowns last season, but he'll have to share the work with Kareem Hunt. Chubb was much more potent before Hunt returned from an eight-game suspension, and we expect Hunt to receive most of the receiving duties. Chubb will be a high-end RB2, but he could have more upside in non-PPR formats.
Posted 4/05/2020 10:11 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb averaged 100.4 yards rushing, 0.75 touchdowns and 3.1 catches in eight games while Kareem Hunt served his eight-game suspension to begin last season. After Hunt was activated, Chubb averaged 86.4 yards rushing, 0.25 TDs and 1.4 catches.
Huddle Up: Hunt was very successful in his backup running back/slot role over the second half of the season, so it's fair to wonder if new head coach Kevin Stefanski has any designs on changing something that worked so well under the previous regime. Working in Chubb's favor is the likelihood Cleveland will be holding leads more often this season, meaning he could in a position to break off some more long scoring runs against tired defenses late in games. With Hunt around, however, Chubb should be considered a high-end RB2.

Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. (core) is on track in his rehabilitation from core muscle surgery performed in January, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Huddle Up: Beckham should be ready to participate in offseason workouts soon, provided that he doesn't suffer any setbacks. Even though he will be participating in a new offensive scheme in 2020, Beckham should be a weekly starting option in all fantasy formats as one of the league's top receivers.
Posted 4/04/2020 11:13 am UTC
Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) is on track in his rehabilitation from hip surgery performed last month, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Huddle Up: The 27-year-old Landry had 83 receptions for 1,174 yards and six touchdowns last season and should be back in action by training camp. He should be viewed as a low-end WR2 or high-end WR3 in PPR fantasy formats.
Posted 4/04/2020 2:01 am UTC
Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku is expected to remain with the team despite the signing of TE Austin Hooper, according to ESPN's Jake Trotter.
Huddle Up: Injuries limited Njoku to four games in 2019, and the addition of Hooper is going to make a rebound season difficult to come by. At best, Njoku is a touchdown-dependent TE2.
Posted 3/20/2020 11:43 pm UTC
Free-agent TE Austin Hooper (Falcons) officially signed with the Cleveland Browns Friday, March 20. Official terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Hooper should receive a solid amount of targets next season and can be a No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues.
Posted 3/16/2020 4:40 pm UTC
Free-agent TE Austin Hooper (Falcons) reportedly agreed to terms on a contract with the Cleveland Browns on Monday, March 16, to make him the game's highest-paid tight end, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Hooper isn't the best tight end in football by a long stretch, but this report suggests the new regime has almost zero faith in David Njoku. It's not a great landing spot for him in fantasy either considering he'll have to fight Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry for targets, but the case could be made he dealt with a similar situation with the Atlanta Falcons. Owners can continue to view Hooper as a mid-tier TE1 option in fantasy moving forward.
Posted 3/16/2020 3:03 pm UTC
Cleveland Browns restricted free-agent RB Kareem Hunt received a second-round tender Monday, March 16.
Huddle Up: Hunt averaged 4.2 yards per carry as he was under restrictions upon returning for the final eight games. He'll be a risky, low-end RB1 grab or a solid RB2.
Posted 3/15/2020 4:06 pm UTC
Atlanta Falcons impending free-agent TE Austin Hooper is not expected to receive interest from the Buffalo Bills this offseason, according to sources.
Huddle Up: The Bills likely will go into next season with Dawson Knox and Tyler Kroft as their top tight ends. Knox posted decent numbers last season and could be a No. 2 fantasy tight end in leagues. Fantasy players can avoid Kroft in drafts.
Posted 3/03/2020 4:01 am UTC
Cleveland Browns RB Kareem Hunt will not be charged with possession of marijuana after his traffic stop on Jan. 21, a police lieutenant said Monday, March 2. The team announced at the NFL Scouting Combine that they intend to tender the restricted free agent, and there is no reason to believe the team would change that plan barring more trouble before the start of free agency March 18, beat writer Nate Ulrich suggests.
Huddle Up: Hunt rushed 43 times for 179 yards and two touchdowns while adding 37 receptions for 285 yards and a score in his eight games. He is worth a look in the middle to late rounds for depth in fantasy leagues, and he is a great handcuff for owners for Nick Chubb.
