Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) was seen running full-speed sprints and also conducted light agility work - such as cutting through cones - on Friday, July 26.
Huddle Up: A Week 1 return still seems unlikely, but the idea that Chubb could even be ready for the start of the season is amazing. With that said, Cleveland have no intention to rush Chubb, so expect an extended ramp-up period that could go until November. Fantasy managers should not count on much from the 28-year-old early in the season, but it seems more than possible now that Chubb could end up being a potential steal for anyone able to land him in the double-digit rounds.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) participated in 11-on-11 drills for the first time since last season on Friday, July 26.
Huddle Up: Watson has long been expected to be ready for the start of the season, but it is a great sign nonetheless that Cleveland feels good enough about his shoulder holding up that it signed off on 11-on-11 drills this early. While his time with the Browns has been highly disappointing, he was starting to show signs of turning it around last season before his injury. Watson is worth rolling the dice on as a high-upside QB2 in the later rounds one more time.

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper reported to the start of training camp after the team handed him a $5 million raise and guaranteed his original base salary of $20 million on Tuesday, July 23.
Huddle Up: Cooper has been a durable and strong WR2 fantasy asset virtually every season since joining the NFL in 2015. His production was a bit more inconsistent last season as Cleveland rotated through multiple quarterbacks, but managers witnessed the kind of upside he possesses when he burned the Houston Texans for 265 yards and two touchdowns in Week 16 last year. Assuming Deshaun Watson can stay healthy more often in 2024, Cooper should finish as a top 15 fantasy receiver.

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper led all qualified pass-catchers with 13.6 yards before the catch per reception in 2023, according to Pro Football Reference. His 979 yards before the catch for the season was good for fourth.
Huddle Up: Both marks were easily Cooper's best since at least 2018. Cooper is more than just a deep threat, but head coach Kevin Stefanski appears to prefer using him more on deeper routes than his previous coaches - such as Jon Gruden and Mike McCarthy - did. The 30-year-old enters this training camp with a contract issue, but he should be expected to serve as the Browns' clear top receiver for at least one more year, making him a solid fantasy WR2 in most leagues.

Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford averaged a broken tackle once every 7.8 carries last season, which ranked third among qualified runners in the league, according to Pro Football Reference.
Huddle Up: Ford also ranked fifth in the league in broken tackles, which is highly impressive for a player who barely played as a rookie and was thought to be little more than a pure backup to Nick Chubb about this time last summer. While Chubb is reportedly recovering well from his knee injury, Ford stands a great chance of starting the season as the Browns' primary back. He is well worth drafting as a RB3/4 in the double-digit rounds and could pay off in a big way again if Chubb cannot regain his previous form.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) surprised beat writer Mary Kay Cabot with his arm strength in minicamp. Cabot also expects him to be mostly back to himself by the start of the season.
Huddle Up: Cabot also said she saw no reason why he couldn't return to the elite level he was in Houston and wasn't healthy most of last season. Watson is a QB2 without a lot of fanfare, but he could provide a sparkplug backup to use in certain matchups.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) has recovered from his knee surgery faster than trainer Brad Lester has ever seen before. "I even had to ask him, 'Which knee was it again?"' Lester said. "He said 'the left one.' I said, 'That's good that I can't even tell.' He's way ahead of schedule in my opinion. I will honestly say I have never seen anyone recover as fast as he has so far. After certain movements, I was kind of like, 'How do you feel?' And he'd say 'I was fine.' I was like, 'Man, this is pretty impressive.' To be seven months out and he didn't have any pains in the workout."
Huddle Up: That's about all you could hope to hear after his catastrophic knee injury last year that tore his ACL, MCL and medial capsule. They may still slow-play him back as they have depth with Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman. The latter two will be matchup plays or flex options while Chubb is out. But Chubb could be a mid-to-low RB2.

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper and the team remain at odds over the length of a potential extension, according to sources. Cooper is seeking a contract extension of at least two years guaranteed. The Browns, however, are reluctant to offer Cooper beyond a one-year extension. They have have been willing to include some guaranteed money for the extra year.
Huddle Up: Cooper is seeking a new deal after a 72-1,250-5 campaign, which pegged him as the WR20 in PPR leagues. He just turned 30 but had the largest YPC of his career last year. He'll likely fall through the cracks in drafts and be an undervalued WR2 or WR3 if he can reproduce 2023.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is ahead of schedule in terms of his recovery from shoulder surgery, according to general manager Andrew Berry.
Huddle Up: Watson was able to throw some during offseason workouts and should be at least a limited participant when training camp starts. He has not posted great numbers since joining the Browns a few years ago and probably should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Cleveland Browns WR Jerry Jeudy (undisclosed) was inside receiving treatment Tuesday, June 11, for a "minor" injury.
Huddle Up: He's coming off a 57-758-2 season, and this is really a "prove it" year for him. He'll be a matchup play as a WR3/flex candidate.

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper is absent from mandatory minicamp Tuesday, June 11.
Huddle Up: Cooper is seeking a new deal after a 72-1,250-5 campaign, which pegged him as the WR20 in PPR leagues. He's 29 but had the largest YPC of his career last year. If he can improve upon the 5 TDs, he'll be an undervalued WR2 or WR3.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) does not have a timeline for his return from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, he said on Wednesday, June 5.
Huddle Up: If Chubb isn't ready for the start of the season, Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman figure to split carries, but Ford, who was a standout last season, will be the passing-down back, giving him some flex appeal. Foreman would be a touchdown-dependent, low-end flex option some weeks.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) will throw every other day as part of his ongoing rehab, per head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Huddle Up: Cleveland added Jerry Jeudy to a receiver room brimming with potential, so if Watson can stay upright he could deliver decent production from fantasy owners. Given his recent history, though, he can't be viewed as more than a midrange QB2 with upside.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) won't throw at organized team activities Wednesday, May 22, which is the first session open to the media. He threw Tuesday, May 21.
Huddle Up: Watson enters this fantasy season with probably the least about of fanfare or intrigue of his career. He's a QB2 that probably only really deserves a roster spot in two-QB leagues.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is expected to be eased into the voluntary workouts with the hope of participating in seven-on-seven and team drills near the end of organized team activities and into the mandatory minicamp.
Huddle Up: Watson seems to be on track for the start of training camp, but fantasy players should keep an eye on the situation over the next few months. He has not posted great numbers since joining the Browns and probably can be a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) is feeling "pretty good" and "progressing nicely" as he continues to rehab the knee injury he suffered in Week 2 of the 2023 season, according to general manager Andrew Berry during his appearance on 92.3 The Fan on Thursday, May 2.
Huddle Up: Chubb "still has a long way to go," according to Berry, and it is the answer is most would expect from a general manager at this point of the offseason. Fantasy managers will likely have to wait at least a month or two more before getting a decent timeline for his return to action, but the smart approach is to assume he will not be ready for training camp and could miss at least the first month of the season. Cleveland prepared well for that scenario by adding D'Onta Foreman and Nyheim Hines - each of whom figures to back up (or complement) Jerome Ford.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) started running on land last week and is "progressing appropriately" as he continues his rehab from the torn medial collateral ligament and anterior cruciate ligament he suffered early last season.
Huddle Up: Chubb's ability to work his way back from a gruesome knee injury in college and make himself into a very good NFL running back was nothing short of incredible. However, as a running back who will turn 29 years old right after Christmas this season, the odds may be stacked too high against him to return to his previous RB1 heights now. While the team has offered no timeline yet, fantasy managers should not expect Chubb to begin the season on time. Expect Jerome Ford to be the lead back and D'Onta Foreman to fill the Kareem Hunt role until Chubb is ready.

Cleveland Browns RB Nyheim Hines (knee) is still rehabbing his torn anterior cruciate ligament, and head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Tuesday, April 16, that he is "not sure" when Hines will be ready to practice.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) is "attacking his rehab every day," according to head coach Kevin Stefanski, who was unwilling to commit to a timetable for a return for his star running back.
Huddle Up: No news in this case would suggest that Stefanski is perhaps feeling some level of doubt that Chubb will return to his pre-injury self, but the running back also has more than four months of rehab before the team has to make any real decisions regarding his future. Chubb recently restructured his contract to include more incentives, so he will have all the motivation he needs to return as quickly as possible. Chubb will remain a wild-card in fantasy drafts until we receive some kind of timetable for his return. Until then, Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman will have extra fantasy value.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) told reporters he is "throwing full speed" and intends to participate at some level during organized team activities, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Watson has been a monumental disappointment for the Browns since his trade from the Houston Texans in March of 2022, but injuries have played an important role in his inability to reach the same heights he did before the trade. Cleveland appears to be going all-in on giving him the supporting cast he needs, as the team added Jerry Jeudy to a supporting cast that already had Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore and David Njoku. Watson will be considered a middling QB2 this offseason, but there is a decent possibility he manages to return to his former QB1 self if he is truly fully healthy.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb restructured his contract Thursday, April 11, to reduce his $11.775 million base salary with a chance to earn it back in incentives.
Huddle Up: Chubb is one of the most talented backs in the league, but he's coming back from another gruesome injury. He could be a bargain in fantasy drafts but will carry serious risk. If you can grab him as an RB2 and back him up with an upside rookie, you could be in business.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) told reporters on Thursday, April 4, that he is "very confident" he will be ready to play in the season opener.
Huddle Up: Watson underwent shoulder surgery in mid-November, so it would make sense why he and his doctors are confident he will be ready to play nearly 10 months later. The question will likely be how much he will participate in training camp. Watson's first two seasons with Cleveland have not gone according to plan, but he has a shot at bouncing back this year with a loaded supporting cast. Consider him a fantasy QB2 option with low-end QB1 upside.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) has been receiving positive medical reports this offseason as he rehabs his shoulder, and general manager Andrew Berry said the team does not expect any issues for Watson, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.
Huddle Up: Watson appears to be on track to participate in training camp and should be fine for the start of the 2024 regular season. He has been inconsistent since joining the Browns and probably should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues but has the chance to have more value if he plays well.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) is "doing a fantastic job with his rehab" and should be able to move from the conditioning phase of his rehab to some pre-football activity in April, according to general manager Andrew Berry. "As we think about it, until we see him in the next couple of months, I think the next - call it three - months will be pretty telling in terms of his potential readiness for early in the season. We're going to be conservative in terms of our approach in our assessment with building the roster because (Chubb is) coming off of a major knee injury. But I do have to give him a lot of credit. He's done a really, really nice job. But I think we'll have a better sense. Don't hold me to it, but I think probably if you ask me that question around the draft, I may have maybe a little bit more of a specific answer," Berry said.
Huddle Up: Berry suggested that while the hope is Chubb (who underwent one surgery in late September and a second surgery on Nov. 14) is ready to go by Week 1, that timeline is fluid. He also noted that the additions of Nyheim Hines and D'Onta Foreman in free agency were less about Chubb and more about roster building. Given the seriousness of his injury, fantasy managers would be wise to not count on him for Week 1, nor should they expect him to be his usual self early in the season. As such, he should probably be viewed as a high-upside RB3 in early drafts until further notice.

Free-agent RB D'Onta Foreman (Bears) has agreed to terms with the Cleveland Browns, per sources on Wednesday, March 20. The terms of the contract were not immediately disclosed.
Huddle Up: Foreman is an effective back when given opportunities, but he's not very good in the passing game and it remains to be seen how much work he'll be able to get in 2024. The Browns have Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford, with Chubb coming back from a torn MCL. Foreman's value will be dependent upon Chubb's status, but even if the veteran back isn't ready to start the season, Foreman will be in a timeshare, at best, with Ford. He's someone to keep an eye on as a late-round stash in re-draft leagues.

Cleveland Browns WR Jerry Jeudy reportedly agreed to a three-year contract extension worth up to $58 million - including $41 million fully guaranteed at signing - with the team on Tuesday, March 19.
Huddle Up: Jeudy's contract suggests that he and Amari Cooper will begin the season as the primary receivers for Deshaun Watson and likely means Elijah Moore will be used more as a traditional slot and/or offensive weapon. With Watson as his quarterback and Cooper taking some of the defensive attention away from him, Jeudy should be primed for his best season yet if he can stay healthy. Consider him a solid fantasy WR3 in early drafts.

Free-agent QB Tyler Huntley (Ravens) agreed to an undisclosed deal with the Cleveland Browns, according to sources Sunday, March 17.
Huddle Up: Huntley is joining a crowded quarterback room that already has Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston and Dorian Thompson-Robinson so he's likely battling for the QB3 spot on the depth chart. His fantasy value is irrelevant.

Impending free-agent RB Nyheim Hines (Bills) reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year contract worth up to $3.5 million with the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday, March 12.
Huddle Up: Assuming Nick Chubb (knee) returns, Hines will likely struggle to find touches on offense behind Jerome Ford. Hines is also coming back from a torn ACL. This appears to be more of a move based on the value he can bring as a returner, although he would be a serviceable complementary back to Ford if Chubb struggles to regain his form.

Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy is being traded to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a 2024 fifth-round pick and 2024 sixth-round pick, per sources on Saturday, March 9.
Huddle Up: Jeudy's time in Denver never panned out, making this a much-needed change of scenery for the former first-round pick. However, Jeudy will be the No. 3 option in an offense that also includes WR Amari Cooper and TE David Njoku. Consider him a fringe flex option until he shows he's capable of more.
