Washington Commanders WR Deebo Samuel ended up with two receptions for 20 yards on five targets in Week 18 against the Philadelphia Eagles, while running twice for a single yard.
Huddle Up: Samuel wrapped up his first season with the Commanders posting 72 receptions, 99 targets, 727 receiving yards, five TD catches, 17 carries, 75 rushing yards and a rushing score. Considering that there was a QB turnstile, with Jayden Daniels injured for large chunks of the season, it was a decent season. He'll be back as at least a WR4 or flex fantasy option heading into 2026.

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin cashed in all four of his targets in Week 18 against the Philadelphia Eagles for four catches and 57 yards.
Huddle Up: It was a bit of a lost season for Scary Terry. He started the summer with a contract impasse, then he suffered an early-season injury which cost him a chunk of time. When he was in there, he worked with Jayden Daniels, Marcus Mariota and Josh Johnson under center. With a return to full health, and stability at the QB position, McLaurin still has WR1 ability in fantasy leagues heading into 2026.

Washington Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed 13 times for just 29 yards in Week 18 against the Philadelphia Eagles, and he was not targeted in the passing game.
Huddle Up: Croskey-Merritt has his chance to be the top dog, but eventually, Chris Rodriguez Jr. emerged as the lead back down the stretch. Bill is still, likely, the future, but the backfield battle will worth keeping an eye on in the summer. Jeremy McNichols is a free agent, and Austin Ekeler is unlikely to be back. Washington could still pick up a free agent, or consider taking a back in the draft, so don't get carried away with Bill or Rodriguez. But, if those two go into training camp, and emerge as one of the top backfield options, they'll be decent RB3 or flex fantasy option in 2026.

Washington Commanders RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. rushed 16 times for a team-high 65 yards and a touchdown in Week 18 against the Philadelphia Eagles, while adding an 18-yard reception on his lone target.,
Huddle Up: Rodriguez emerged as the lead back down the stretch in 2025, but the future is still, likely, Jacory Croskey-Merritt. The backfield battle will be fun to watch in the summer. Jeremy McNichols is a free agent, and it's hard to imagine Austin Ekeler coming back and factoring in. Washington could still add a veteran free agent, or consider taking a back in the draft, so don't get carried away with Bill or Rodriguez. But, if those two go into training camp, and emerge as one of the top backfield options, they'll be decent RB3 or flex fantasy option in 2026.

Washington Commanders QB Josh Johnson will start Week 18's game versus the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Huddle Up: Johnson went 15-for-23 for 198 passing yards with no touchdowns or interceptions, along with 10 rushing yards, in his last start versus the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17. He is receiving the starting nod again for the regular-season finale after both Jayden Daniels (elbow) and Marcus Mariota (hand, quadriceps) were ruled out but should be avoided in all fantasy formats.

Washington Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (illness) practiced in full on Friday, Jan. 2, and no longer appears on the injury report.
Huddle Up: Croskey-Merritt is coming off his second 100-yard rushing game of the season and could earn another against a resting Eagles' defense. He can be installed as a flex play in Week 18.

Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota (hand, quadriceps) has been ruled out for Week 18.
Huddle Up: Josh Johnson was 15-for-23 for 198 yards, no scores and no picks last week and really isn't an option outside of a desperation superflex-league play against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Washington Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (illness) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 1.
Huddle Up: Croskey-Merritt appears to have recovered from his illness and should be available for the Week 18 game. He is coming off a terrific performance last week but probably will have to share playing time with Chris Rodriguez Jr. this week. He can still be a flex option in most fantasy leagues.

Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota (hand, quadriceps) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Huddle Up: Mariota is not expected to be available for the game, but fantasy players can check on his status later in the week. Josh Johnson will likely be the starter in the finale but can be avoided in all leagues.

Washington Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (illness) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Huddle Up: There is a good chance that Croskey-Merritt returns later in the week, but fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation. He is coming off an outstanding Week 17 performance and has four rushing touchdowns in the last three games. He may share playing time with Chris Rodriguez Jr. during the game but can still be a flex option in leagues.

Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota (hand, quad) is doubtful for Week 18, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
Huddle Up: Mariota being out would signal another start for Josh Johnson at quarterback for the Commanders. Jayden Daniels will be back in 2026, however, and should return to his QB1 form due to his dual-threat ability in the Washington offense.

Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota (hand, quadriceps) seems like a long shot to play in Week 18 but has not been ruled out at this point, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players can monitor Mariota's practice participation during the week to see if he makes any progress in his recovery but should start looking for other options at the position.

Washington Commanders TE Ben Sinnott caught three passes for 29 yards against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17. He was targeted four times during the game.
Huddle Up: Sinnott has been the main tight end for the Commanders since Zach Ertz suffered his injury but has not posted more than 36 yards in any game this season. He can be avoided in all leagues next week.

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin caught five passes for 63 yards against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17. He was targeted seven times during the game.
Huddle Up: McLaurin has been a solid contributor since returning from injury about a month ago and has been targeted at least six times in three of his last five games. He should see a similar workload next week and can be a starting option in fantasy leagues.

Washington Commanders WR Deebo Samuel caught two passes for 68 yards on four targets against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17. He also rushed for 25 yards on two carries during the game.
Huddle Up: Samuel had been held to under 45 yards in the previous three games but was able to have some success against the Cowboys. He should see a handful of targets next week and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

Washington Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17.
Huddle Up: Croskey-Merritt received nearly all of the carries with Chris Rodriguez Jr. unavailable and was able to have a lot of success against the Cowboys. He should see a good amount of touches next week even if Rodriguez returns and can be a flex option in leagues.

Washington Commanders QB Josh Johnson went 15-for-23 for 198 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17. He also rushed for 10 yards on two carries during the game.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to keep an eye on the situation next week to see if Johnson will receive another start or if Marcus Mariota will be able to return from injury. Fantasy players can avoid Johnson if he starts in Week 18.

Washington Commanders RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. (illness) is out for the Christmas Day game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Huddle Up: Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jeremy McNichols will share the load. JCM has touchdowns in two straight games and has the upside among the two flex candidates.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 24, but has been ruled out for Week 17.
Huddle Up: Daniels has been practicing but will not play again this season, so fantasy players can drop him if they need the space. Josh Johnson will be the starting quarterback this week but can be avoided in all leagues.

Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota (hand, quadriceps) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 24, and has been ruled out for Week 17.
Huddle Up: Josh Johnson will be the starting quarterback for the Week 17 game and threw for 43 yards and one interception in limited playing time last week. He can be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

Washington Commanders QB Josh Johnson will start against the Dallas Cowboys Thursday, Dec. 25, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
Huddle Up: Marcus Mariota had some upside because of his legs, but Johnson has zero fantasy appeal.

Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota (hand, quadriceps) did not practice Tuesday, Dec. 24, for a second straight day.
Huddle Up: If Mariota cannot go in Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys, Josh Johnson is likely to start. Jayden Daniels has practiced on a limited basis, but it makes no sense to risk further injury to the franchise face. Whomever starts has a favorable matchup against the awful passing defense of the Cowboys.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) was limited in practice for the second straight day Tuesday, Dec. 24.
Huddle Up: Daniels practiced in a limited fashion last week before being ruled out. It really makes little chance to roll the dice with their franchise quarterback, since the Commanders have long since been eliminated from the playoffs. If he were to start, it would be a super favorable matchup against the awful Dallas passing defense. However, he suffered a hamstring injury in the first meeting with Dallas, he suffered a dislocated elbow against Seattle, and he aggravated his elbow against Minnesota. There is no sense to risk it, so don't expect to see Daniels, although Marcus Mariota is also a question mark. We might see Josh Johnson under center in Week 17.

Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota (hand, quadriceps) did not participate in practice Monday, Dec. 22. The Commanders only held a walkthrough Monday, so this is an estimation.
Huddle Up: Mariota has not been ruled out of the game at this point, so fantasy players should monitor the situation over the next few days. Mariota has posted decent numbers when he has played this season but will only be a possible starting option in two-quarterback leagues if he plays.

Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota (hand, quadriceps) hasn't been ruled out for the Week 17 game Thursday, Dec. 25.
Huddle Up: The team signed Jeff Driskel off the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad, and with the short week, it could be Josh Johnson under center. Johnson or a limited Mariota would not be options in fantasy early in the week when better options present themselves.

Washington Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed eight times for 25 yards and a touchdown in a 29-18 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16.
Huddle Up: With Chris Rodriguez Jr. back in action, Croskey-Merritt returned to his backup role. He did punch in a short touchdown, but between his limited carries and lack of involvement in the passing game, Croskey-Merritt's floor is dangerously low. Hang on to him in case Rodriguez misses another game, but avoid starting Croskey-Merritt otherwise.

Washington Commanders RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. rushed 15 times for 63 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for six yards in a 29-18 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16.
Huddle Up: Rodriguez returned from a one-game absence and picked up where he left off, leading the Washington backfield in carries and total touches. He appears locked in as the lead back, and he can be a reliable RB3 or flex option for fantasy owners.
