Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka can make a big jump in his second season, according to general manager Jason Licht. "He had to play multiple positions," Licht said. "He had to rely on him as a No. 1 and started strong, but, as a rookie, he came off a long season in college, (had a) short offseason and then (was) placed into a position where he was being heavily relied on. I expect to see a big jump in the performance."
Huddle Up: Egbuka faded after a strong start to his rookie campaign, but injuries to the Tampa Bay receiving corps and an injury to Baker Mayfield likely didn't help matters. He still finished with 938 yards and six touchdowns, and he should enter 2026 as a WR3 with upside.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka had the lowest catchable target rate (65.6%) among all pass catchers with at least 100 targets in the 2025 NFL season, according to Sports Info Solutions.
Huddle Up: Egbuka had a successful rookie campaign with a 63-938-6 line on 130 targets, but it took a lot of volume to get to that respectable line. Baker Mayfield's shoulder injury, which he suffered against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12, didn't help matters either. Mayfield ultimately played through it and reduced the passing game's output. As for Egbuka, he caught just 35-of-86 targets (40.7%) up to Week 12 and 18-of-44 targets (41%) from Week 12 onwards, so it really just could be a connection issue for the quarterback and receiver. Looking to 2026, Egbuka remains a very good breakout candidate and a worthwhile WR3 candidate for fantasy rosters, especially if Mike Evans leaves Tampa Bay in free agency.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka caught one of his three targets for eight yards in a 16-14 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 18.
Huddle Up: A scorching hot start to his rookie rear gave way to a quiet finish, and whether it was opponents adjusting or Egbuka hitting a rookie wall, he simply wasn't the same level of performer over the final few weeks of the year. Still, Egbuka flashed enough upside to be in the WR3 mix entering 2026.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka caught three of his five targets for 20 yards in a 20-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 17.
Huddle Up: Egbuka continues to post mediocre stat lines, and he has finished with 42 yards or less in six of his last seven games. With Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan all finally healthy, there is suddenly plenty of competition for targets. Egbuka is unlikely to approach the approach the numbers he was putting up early in the year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka posted a single 40-yard reception on two targets in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers.
Huddle Up: Egbuka's first catch didn't come into late in the second half, but at least it was good for a giant gainer. He'll look for better production in Week 17 in Miami. Fantasy managers need to stick with him despite the lack of catches Sunday.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka had four receptions (on seven targets) for 64 yards versus the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15.
Huddle Up: The returns of Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan meant more competition for targets on Thursday night, but it didn't seem to impact Egbuka, who finished second to Evans in targets and finished with his highest yardage output since Week 10. That was the last time he performed like a WR1, though, as the rookie hasn't scored since with tonight being his first effort of over 50 yards. With so many options for Baker Mayfield down the stretch, Egbuka looks like a risky WR3 that's had way more misses than hits ever since setting the NFL on fire over his first five games.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka caught two of his nine targets for 15 yards in a 24-20 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 14.
Huddle Up: In what is becoming a familiar trend, Egbuka led the Buccaneers in targets but posted modest numbers overall. Despite logging at least eight targets in four straight games, Egbuka hasn't topped 42 yards in any of those contests. The volume remains encouraging, but Egbuka is best used as a WR3 until he and Baker Mayfield are back in a rhythm.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka caught four of his eight targets for 42 yards in a 20-17 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 13.
Huddle Up: Egbuka led the team in targets, and he has logged at least eight targets in six straight games. However, he has been held to 42 yards or less in four of those games. Whether it is defenses focusing more on Egbuka or Baker Mayfield playing through injuries, Egbuka just hasn't had many big games of late. The volume gives him upside, but Egbuka has been more of a WR3 recently.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka posted three receptions for a team-high 32 yards on eight targets in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Rams.
Huddle Up: Egbuka was the only player on the Bucs roster to average more than 10 yards per reception, but that's not saying much. His fantasy line was mediocre, at best. The team lost Baker Mayfield to injury just before halfway, so it could get worse before it gets better for the rookie and his fantasy managers. He is still a low-end WR2 or strong WR3 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 13.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka (illness) practiced in full on Friday, Nov. 21, and no longer appears in the injury report.
Huddle Up: Egbuka has become a top target in the Bucs' passing attack and is a reliable piece despite a recent rough stretch. He can be installed as a WR1 in your lineup in most leagues.
