Kansas City Chiefs RB Brashard Smith rushed for 56 yards on 12 carries and caught two of his four targets for two yards in Week 18 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Huddle Up: For whatever reason, the Jerick McKinnon role that Smith was supposed to fill never evolved for Smith in 2025. Part of the problem may be that Kansas City believed it did not want to throw a seventh-round rookie - who is relatively new to the position - into the fire when it knew it had veterans it could trust, even if they did possess much upside. Smith is certainly worth holding in dynasty leagues, however, as the Chiefs will likely move on from Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt in the offseason.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Brashard Smith did not have a rushing attempt in Week 16 against the Tennessee Titans, while adding a 4-yard reception on his only target.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Brashard Smith carried twice for just a single yard in Week 15 against the Los Angeles Chargers, and he was not targeted in the passing game.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Brashard Smith did not log a carry and was not targeted during the Week 13 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Huddle Up: Smith had been making an impact in the passing game, but whether it was the return of Isiah Pacheco or something else was at play, he was not part of the offensive plan against Dallas. Smith's role was already limited, and and he can probably be cut loose in most leagues now that Pacheco is back in the mix.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Brashard Smith caught three passes for 31 yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 12. He also rushed for five yards on one carry during the game.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Brashard Smith caught two passes for eight yards and did not log a carry in a 22-19 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 11.
Huddle Up: A few weeks ago, it appeared that Smith was carving out a role as a third-down back, but he seems to have quickly fallen out of favor. Smith has just eight total touches over the last three games.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Brashard Smith rushed three times for seven yards and failed to catch his only target in a 28-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 9.
Huddle Up: It appeared that Smith was becoming a weapon in the passing game, but he has now gone back-to-back games without a reception. Despite the limited role, Smith is currently the primary backup to Kareem Hunt. Smith should be kept on rosters, at least until Isiah Pacheco returns.

Kansas City Chiefs OT Josh Simmons (personal) and RB Isiah Pacheco (knee) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 9 against the Buffalo Bills. OT Jaylon Moore (illness) did not practice Friday, Oct. 31, and is listed as questionable. G Trey Smith (back) practiced in full on Friday and is listed as questionable. WR Hollywood Brown (illness), LB Nick Bolton (knee), RB Kareem Hunt (ankle), DE Charles Omenihu (ankle), RB Brashard Smith (toe), and OT Jawaan Taylor (knee, shoulder) practiced in full all week and no longer appear on the injury report.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Brashard Smith (toe) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 30.
Huddle Up: Smith appears on track to be ready for Week 9, and with Isiah Pacheco (knee) sidelined, Smith should be in for an increased role. He has already shown potential in the passing game, and if he adds a few more carries, he could post a serviceable stat line. Smith is worth adding if available, and he could have some flex appeal in PPR formats.
