Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue admitted he "wasn't really there" in his rookie season of 2025, but he is "ready to go now". The former University of Texas star enters the season in a battle to be the primary backup to RB Javonte Williams. "I didn't start off like I should have," Blue said. "Maybe if it was not practicing the right way or just on a maturity level, I think I wasn't really there. But just learning from all the vets, having the offseason that I've had, I think I'm ready to go."
Huddle Up: Williams finished with a career-high 1,201 rushing yards in 2025, while accounting for 13 touchdowns. So, Blue will have to wait his turn at carving out a huge role in the offense. He is trying to overtake Malik Davis for the RB2 job, and Phil Mafah is also in the mix for backfield touches. The Cowboys likely prefer Blue, and would like to see him take a step forward. Unless disaster strikes, knocking Williams out of action for an extended period, Blue is only worth drafting as a handcuff to Williams, and as a late-round flier as a fantasy lottery ticket.

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue was praised for his work ethic during OTAs by head coach Brian Schottenheimer, and Schottenheimer believes Blue has become a different player.
Huddle Up: Blue appears focused on putting a lackluster rookie season behind him, and if he can secure the No. 2 running back role, he will at least be a valuable handcuff to Javonte Williams. Keep an eye on Blue's role in the Dallas backfield during training camp.

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue will compete with RB Malik Davis and RB Phil Mafah for the No. 2 running back job.
Huddle Up: Blue played sparingly as a rookie, but he has the speed to bring a big-play element to the Dallas offense. Of the players in the mix for the backup job, Blue probably has the most upside. Assuming he can secure the role, he will be worth stashing in most formats.

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue said his lack of consistency in practice played a role in his sporadic playing time this season. "I'm trusting my coaches, and just making sure I'm working because, at this level, talent isn't everything," Blue said. "I have to make sure I'm putting in work so that I can continue to have those opportunities."
Huddle Up: Blue handled just 38 carries all year, but when give a chance for extended playing time in the season finale, he delivered 64 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Assuming Dallas is able to re-sign Javonte Williams, he will be the starter, but Blue made a case to be the primary backup in 2026.

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue carried 16 times for 64 yards and his first career touchdown in a Week 18 loss to the New York Giants.
Huddle Up: Blue entered the game with 65 yards on 22 carries for the entire season, so he made a good case for a backup role in Dallas heading into 2026. Blue actually ended the first half with over 70 yards, as he ripped off four runs of 10+ yards - but was bottled up in the second half.

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue is expected to start in Week 18 against the New York Giants. He last appeared in Week 8 against the Denver Broncos, and he has posted 65 rushing yards on 22 carries, or 3.0 yards per carry, with no touchdowns through four games.
Huddle Up: Blue is an intriguing option for fantasy managers playing in their championships in Week 18, and he is a sensational DFS option for the finale. However, don't get too carried away. While Javonte Williams is on IR, and Malik Davis has been ruled out, Blue is likely to split the workload with Phil Mafah, who is also an option to see his share of the backfield touches.

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue rushed eight times for 29 yards in a 44-24 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 8.
Huddle Up: The eight carries were a new career high for the rookie, and over the past two weeks, he has 15 carries for 58 yards. Blue has taken over as the primary backup to Javonte Williams, but he doesn't have much fantasy value outside of being an insurance policy for the aforementioned Williams.

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue carried the ball seven times for 29 yards against the Washington Commanders in Week 7. He added a five-yard catch on his lone target.
Huddle Up: Blue is filling the backup role behind Javonte Williams following the season-ending injury to Miles Sanders (knee). The rookie hasn't done much to date, but Blue does carry some handcuff value for Williams owners as the former Broncos back has solidified himself as a legit RB2 for the Cowboys.
