New York Jets TE Mason Taylor said that he has been working on refining his footwork, hand placement, leverage and run-game protection in the team's offseason program.
Huddle Up: Head coach Aaron Glenn said that Taylor has been impressive as both a receiver and a blocker this offseason, which bodes well for his chances of cracking the starting lineup as a rookie. Fantasy owners should consider him as a solid TE2 option for redraft leagues with a great deal of upside and as a potential late-second or early-third-round pick in late rookie drafts.

New York Jets TE Mason Taylor flashed his potential as a pass-catcher during organized team activities, but head coach Aaron Glenn was more impressed with his blocking. "I think he's been doing an outstanding job in that aspect. And it's not just the pass catching, because that's what you guys see, that's what you guys really think is an a-ha moment, but the blocking is what really gets me going," Glenn recently told the team's website.
Huddle Up: Players, particularly rookies, are not going to be able to show much as a blocker outside of footwork and assignment recognition during the spring. With that said, learning how to set an NFL-quality block is the only piece missing from some college prospects who show the willingness to be a blocker. The fact that Glenn is praising Taylor's blocking now bodes very well for him in his effort to become a Week 1 starter. Fantasy managers should consider Taylor a decent TE2 option in redraft and a strong late-second or early-third-round pick in late rookie drafts.

New York Jets TE Mason Taylor seems to be the leading candidate for the tight end job entering training camp, in the opinion of JetsWire's Craig Moffett.
Huddle Up: Taylor will see a handful of targets each game if he wins the starting job but likely would only be a No. 2 tight end in deeper leagues.

New York Jets TE Mason Taylor is a "pro-ready fix" for the Jets' needs at the tight end position, according to Field Yates of ESPN.com.
Huddle Up: The Jets have a glaring need at the tight end position, so at the very least, Taylor should have plenty of opportunities to make an impact. If he can develop a rapport with Justin Fields, Taylor could be a viable TE2 as a rookie.

Louisiana State TE Mason Taylor was selected by the New York Jets with the 42nd overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: The Jets do not have a clear starting tight end at this point, so Taylor has a chance to earn the job during training camp. He can be considered a No. 2 fantasy tight end if he starts as a rookie.

Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson and Louisiana State University TE Mason Taylor are reportedly the two players that the Cleveland Browns are eyeing with their two second-round selections on Friday, April 25 (Nos. 33 and 36 overall).
Huddle Up: Henderson makes plenty of sense for a team that would love nothing more than to add an explosive element out of the backfield to the passing game. He would make a natural complement to Nick Chubb if they decided to bring the free agent back. The addition of Taylor would be a bit more puzzling in that he is not a great blocker at this point in his career and David Njoku should be locked in as a top option in the passing game for at least two more years.
