Huddle Up: Tate is in line to be one of the focal points in the Titans offense this upcoming season and seems to be building a connection with Cam Ward. He can be considered at least a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues and will likely become a weekly starting option in leagues.

Huddle Up: Carnell Tate has a chance to emerge as the WR1 by the end of his rookie season. Despite the presence of Calvin Ridley, his style will be more complementary to QB Cam Ward, which makes him a reliable WR3 heading into the 2026 season.

Huddle Up: Tate was drafted fourth overall by the Titans and will ostensibly be their top wide receiver for 2026. It remains to be seen if last season's top overall pick, quarterback Cam Ward, can make a second-year leap, but the drafting of Tate gives Ward a huge weapon. Tate is a solid fantasy WR3 with huge upside if this Titans' passing game gels right away.

Tennessee Titans WR Carnell Tate was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and assistant general manager Dave Ziegler said the team was "unequivocal in its belief" that Tate was the best fit for the team going forward. "At the end of the day with Carnell, we just had a very good, consensus vision on what he is going to do, where he is going to play, how he is going to fit in and what he is going to bring to this team," Ziegler said. "We feel we are really getting a complete three-down player. ... He was a clear guy for us to take and we are really excited about it."
Huddle Up: The goal for the team's management was to get weapons for QB Cam Ward, but there are questions if Tate can be a true No. 1 receiver in the NFL. There are questions about his size and speed, according to NFL.com's Kevin Patra, but he does run pro-level routes, and he is cerebral, as well as physical. It will be interesting to see if Tate is the 2026 version of Tetairoa McMillan, immediately stepping in as a rookie to serve as a fantasy must-have, or if it takes a while to develop. For redraft leagues, he is likely not a bad WR3 or flex option to start, but he is a must-have in long-term fantasy formats.
