Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullens (elbow) sustained a right elbow injury in Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys. According to head coach Kyle Shanahan, the team is considering the potential of Mullens undergoing reconstruction surgery (Tommy John surgery). The surgery would likely take him approximately six weeks to recover from, per Shanahan.

San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullens (elbow) sustained a right elbow injury in Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys that is expected to end his season and will require surgery, according to a source via NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco.
Huddle Up: Once Mullens goes on the Reserve/Injured list, it will leave C.J. Beathard and Jimmy Garoppolo as the only quarterbacks on the roster, and it should be noted that Garoppolo was just designated for return from IR earlier Tuesday. In other words, Jerick McKinnon may need to fill in at quarterback if something happens to Beathard in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals. Beathard figures to be a downgrade for all San Francisco pass-catchers.

San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullens (elbow) suffered an elbow injury during the Week 15 game.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Mullens or C.J. Beathard will be the starting quarterback next week. Neither quarterback is a great option, and both can be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullens will make the start in Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys, but head coach Kyle Shanahan said he could be replaced if Mullens doesn't curtail his turnovers. 'First and foremost,' Shanahan said Wednesday, Dec. 16, 'if he wants to stay out there, he's got to stop turning the ball over.'
Huddle Up: Mullen has 12 turnovers in seven starts, and the NFL's second-highest interception percentage with at least one interception in each of the past six outings. He cannot be trusted outside of the deeper fantasy leagues heading into Week 15.

San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullens might not be the starter for the Week 15 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday, Dec. 15, that he was considering all options, and wouldn't commit to Mullens for a sixth consecutive start.
Huddle Up: It's uncertain if it will be Mullens or C.J. Beathard on Sunday, but it is clear it won't be Jimmy Garoppolo just yet. He isn't ready to return until at least next week. Neither Beathard or Mullens would be useful in most fantasy leagues at this critical juncture.

San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullens completed 25-of-45 passes for 260 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 14 against the Washington Football Team.
Huddle Up: The yardage total was OK for Mullens, but his 55.6 completion percentage was the lowest of the season and his interception went back for six, courtesy of S Kamren Curl. Mullens is only worth a look as a low-end QB2 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 15 in Dallas.

San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullens completed 26-of-39 passes for 316 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 13 against the Buffalo Bills on Monday, Dec. 7.
Huddle Up: The three touchdowns tied a career best, as he also tossed three touchdowns in a game Nov. 1, 2018 against the then Oakland Raiders, and Dec. 30, 2018 on the road against the Los Angeles Rams. Despite the solid performance he remains more of a low-end QB2 in leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 14 against the Washington Football Team.

San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullens completed 24 of his 35 passes for 252 yards, no touchdowns and an interception during the team's Week 12 victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
Huddle Up: The numbers don't really bear it out, but Mullens played winning football on Sunday in the face of steady pressure. He managed to limit mistakes and made just enough plays to eek out a win. That being said, Mullens' production isn't worthy of a roster spot in most formats.

San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullens completed 24-of-38 passes for 247 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints and he ran for three yards.
Huddle Up: Mullens has thrown one or no touchdown passes in four of his five starts while getting picked off five times. Since he lit up the Giants in his first start in Week 3, he has done next to nothing. He is only worth using as a low-end QB2 in deeper fantasy leagues which use two starting signal callers. The 49ers are off in Week 11, so this might be the last start for Mullens with Jimmy Garoppolo getting two more weeks to heal.
