Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent QB Mason Rudolph is expected to test the free-agent market this offseason but is not ruling out a return to the Steelers, according to a source.

Although Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mitchell Trubisky has been named the starter for Week 15's game versus the Carolina Panthers, multiple sources said that he will be on a short leash if the club gets off to a slow start offensively. QB Mason Rudolph, who will back up Trubisky, took increased reps throughout the week in practice.
Huddle Up: Trubisky, who began the 2022 season as the Steelers' starting quarterback, threw three interceptions in relief of injured QB Kenny Pickett (concussion) during Week 14's game against the Baltimore Ravens, as he saw his first game action since Week 6. He is not a recommended option in any fantasy format.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph said he has been splitting first-team reps with QB Mitchell Trubisky during practice while QB Kenny Pickett (concussion) is sidelined.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett is ahead of QB Mason Rudolph for the backup quarterback spot on the official depth chart entering Week 1.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Pickett is only worth having in dynasty formats for now, but he could become a waiver wire pickup if Mitchell Trubisky struggles early on.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mitchell Trubisky will be the starting quarterback for the second preseason game and will be followed by QB Kenny Pickett then QB Mason Rudolph.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Trubisky will receive his second straight start, while Pickett may be moving up the depth chart after his strong showing in the first game. Trubisky should still be the leading candidate for the job but would be a low-end No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mitchell Trubisky will be the starting quarterback during the first preseason game, but QBs Mason Rudolph and Kenny Pickett will also receive playing time.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Trubisky is the leading candidate for the job and likely will be the Week 1 starter if he can stay healthy. He can be considered a low-end No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph and restricted free-agent QB Dwayne Haskins will be on the roster this offseason, but general manager Kevin Colbert said the team plans to add two more quarterbacks via free agency, trade or NFL Draft.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Rudolph is currently the leading candidate for the starting job, but he likely will have competition for the job during training camp. Fantasy players can monitor the situation to see of the team's starter will be a No. 1 or No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph would be the starter if the season started today, according to general manager Kevin Colbert.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Rudolph would be a QB2 if he were to land the gig as he has done very little to exude confidence in fantasy.

Pittsburgh Steelers QBs Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins may compete with a draft pick for the starting quarterback job next season since the team does not usually trade their first-round draft choices for a player like Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers or Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, according a source.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see who will start for the Steelers next season. Fantasy players probably should consider the Steelers quarterback a No. 2 option in 2022.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph completed 30-of-50 passes for 242 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 10 against the Detroit Lions while running four times for 36 yards.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Rudolph did a good job stepping in for Ben Roethlisberger (COVID), especially since he didn't have Chase Claypool in the mix. He hit four different receivers at least four times, but led the team to a tie against the winless Lions. He is unlikely to get another start in Week 11, but if he does his fantasy appeal is still rather minimal.
