Chicago Bears PK Eddy Pineiro (groin) was not seen attempting any field goals during the first two weeks of practice due to a groin injury. He was in uniform for the team's scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 29, but did not kick.
Huddle Up: PK Cairo Santos will handle kicking duties for the Bears if Pineiro is not able to return to action by the start of the regular season. Although Santos has had an impressive camp, he has been inconsistent over his last three years, having kicked for five different teams from 2017 to 2019, so fantasy owners should look elsewhere for more reliable options.

Chicago Bears PK Eddy Pineiro said Tuesday, June 9, he's added about eight pounds this offseason. He also said he's been kicking at Moore Park in Miami and called it 'the windiest park' in the area.
Huddle Up: Pineiro made 23 of 28 field-goal attempts and 27 of 29 extra-point attempts in 2019. He's a reliable kicker but his fantasy relevance will depend on how often the Bears can get into scoring range in 2020.

Chicago Bears PK Eddy Pineiro has the confidence of head coach Matt Nagy after missing two of his five field-goal attempts in Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers, including the potential game-winner at the horn. 'We have all the faith in the world in him,' Nagy said Monday, Oct. 28. 'We know he's going to bounce back. Ask anybody on the team. It's the NFL. It happens. How do you respond to it? Right?'
Huddle Up: Pineiro was 9-for-10 on his field-goal attempts before his implosion in Week 8. While Nagy might have faith in the placekicker, fantasy owners shouldn't be as nice.

Chicago Bears K Eddy Pineiro (knee) didn't practice Thursday, Sept. 26.
Huddle Up: Fantasy managers are able to wait it out until Pineiro's Sunday status is announced before simply adding the next-best option from the waiver wire. It's a wonderful thing about fantasy kickers.

Chicago Bears PK Eddy Pineiro (knee) should be able to play in Week 3 even though he is listed as questionable for the game, according to head coach Matt Nagy.

Chicago Bear PK Eddy Pineiro (knee) was limited in practice Saturday, Sept. 21, with a knee issue and is listed as questionable for the team's Week 3 game Monday.

Chicago Bears PK Eddy Pineiro is not locked in as the team's starting kicker with the release Sunday, Aug. 18, of competing PK Elliott Fry, in the opinion of one veteran beat writer, who said the favorite is likely an unknown, soon-to-be-released kicker from another team.
Huddle Up: Just for those in fantasy leagues which still use kickers and are anxiously awaiting the fate of the Bears' starting gig. (Sarcasm intended)

Chicago Bears PKs Eddy Pineiro and Elliott Fry will battle for the kicker spot, but neither is in the lead. The team plans to monitor other teams' kicking competitions for a potential option.
