Oakland Raiders QB David Carr (back) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 13, and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Huddle Up: Carr was originally diagnosed with an injury which would sideline him two to six weeks. He will have missed exactly two weeks when he suits up on Sunday. He will be facing the league's No. 4 pass defense, as the Bolts allow just 190.2 yards per game through the air, but they have also yielded eight passing scores and 14 plays or 20 or more yards.

Free-agent QB David Carr (Giants) will work with former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan in an attempt to return to the NFL.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Maybe he can go to whatever team drafts his little brother and serve as a mentor. Tough to see either Carr making much of a fantasy splash this season, but at least Derek has some upside while David would be a veteran clipboard-holding option at best.

New York Giants QB David Carr is expected to win the backup quarterback job over QB Curtis Painter, according to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPNNewYork.com.

Huddle Up: Nice to know the 2002 No. 1 overall pick still has NFL work, but in the meantime, Eli Manning hasn't missed a start since his rookie season of 2004.

The New York Giants likely will keep three quarterbacks on their final roster to allow QB Ryan Nassib develop. QB David Carr likely will be the No. 2 quarterback because Nassib may not be ready for that role.

Huddle Up: If you're looking for the short-term insurance policy for Eli Manning, it's Carr. Nassib looks to be on the Ryan Mallett plan.

Impending free-agent QB David Carr is expected to hit the open market, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be a team interested in his services due to a past relationship between Carr and offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: The Bucs are looking for someone to push Josh Freeman, and given Carr's past history with Sullivan and what will likely be an affordable price point the pairing makes sense.

The New York Giants could consider re-signing impending free-agent QB David Carr this offseason to maintain stability at backup quarterback.

Huddle Up: The former No. 1 overall pick by Houston in 2002, Carr's the richest non-starting player in the NFL with over $40 million dollars earned in his career.

San Francisco 49ers QB David Carr said the coaches told him that he will be given the opportunity to compete for the starting quarterback job during training camp.

Huddle Up: Carr will likely be battling Alex Smith and rookie Colin Kaepernick; right now he's projected to finish third in that race.

San Francisco 49ers QB David Carr appears to be entrenched as the team's No. 2 quarterback because QB Nate Davis did not execute the unseen responsibilities of his job, reports Matt Maiocco, of CSNBayArea.com.
SOURCE: Not available
Huddle Up: Nate Davis is one of Mike Singletary's projects that doesn't seem to be working out. He did throw a bomb to Ted Ginn in scrub time last Saturday but reportedly made tons of mistakes. Carr, a former #1 overall draft pick just like Alex Smith, will be the backup and a good fantasy grab if Smith gets injured.

The New York Daily News, reports New York Giants QB David Carr signed a one-year deal worth $1 million with a $1 million signing bonus, according to an NFL source. The deal also includes another bonus of $100,000, making the total value of the deal $2.1 million over the one year.

Huddle Up: The Giants are the next in line to take a chance on Carr who will likely use the former Houston starter as its primary backup in 2009. The only thing that New York should like about this is the fact that Carr is an upgrade over what the Giants have had in the past backing up Eli Manning.
