Denver Broncos second-round pick WR KJ Hamler had nine drops last season at Penn State. 'That was something that we looked at,' said Broncos president of football operations/general manager John Elway. 'I think that when you looked at his ability to catch the ball, it's not because he doesn't have good ball skills. Obviously, he's got just the concentration drops, which are the easy drops that you don't concentrate looking in. ... We felt like we could coach him through that.'
Huddle Up: Hamler is going to work in the slot, and he could be worth a late-round flyer if he catches on quickly.

Denver Broncos WR KJ Hamler may be asked to return some kicks and punts this upcoming season but likely will not have the role on a full-time basis because of his role in the offense.
Huddle Up: Hamler likely will be used as the slot receiver for the Broncos, so his special teams play likely will be limited. He has a chance to be a late round pick in fantasy leagues but probably will not be a weekly starting option.

Denver Broncos WR KJ Hamler appears to be the leading candidate for the slot receiver job this upcoming season.
Huddle Up: Hamler was selected in the second round, so the team likely will give him every opportunity to win a big role in the passing game. Fantasy players should monitor his progress during the preseason, but he can be a late round pick in drafts.

Denver Broncos rookie WR KJ Hamler was surprised when the Broncos drafted him, especially after they took a receiver (Jerry Jeudy) at 15th overall in the first round. He also talked with the Broncos just one time leading up to the NFL Draft and said he thought he would end up with the Philadelphia Eagles or Chicago Bears. With the Broncos, he has home-run speed to bring a different dimension to the offense they have lacked for years. The Broncos have noticed Hamler has struggled with drops, but they believe they can coach that out of him. Hamler is likely to play in the slot along side WRs Courtland Sutton and Jeudy.
Huddle Up: Second-year QB Drew Lock has to be smiling with the new weapons the Denver front-office handed him. It'll take some time for all of it to gel due to the players not being able to workout together right now, but Hamler has big-play ability. In single-year formats, he may be best left to the waiver wire but he'll have his chances and definitely should be on your radar in dynasty leagues or as spot-plays for DFS gaming.
