San Francisco 49ers QB C.J. Beathard replaced QB Brian Hoyer against the Washington Redskins in Week 6 and completed 19 of his 36 passes for 245 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
Huddle Up: It remains to be seen if Beathard will continue to play ahead of Hoyer going forward, but even if he is given the starting job, he doesn't need to be rostered.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brian Hoyer completed 29 of his 46 pass attempts for 353 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Huddle Up: The yardage total was a season high, and he now has a pair of 300-yard games over the past three outings while tossing four touchdowns and two interceptions with a rushing score. He still isn't worth using on a regular basis in fantasy, but you can do worse if you need a bye-week replacement. The 49ers travel to meet the Redskins in Week 6.

San Francisco 49ers Brian Hoyer will remain in the starting quarterback job for the time being, as coach Kyle Shanahan told media he has 'not given any consideration' to a QB change.
Huddle Up: Hoyer completed only half of his passes in the team's latest game, and that won't get the job done for most fantasy owners. Hoyer is not a viable fantasy option.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brian Hoyer completed 24 of his 49 pass attempts for 234 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 4 overtime loss against the Arizona Cardinals.
Huddle Up: Hoyer appeared to suffer some type of lower-leg injury, and backup C.J. Beathard was summoned, but Hoyer was able to return and finish the game. That's about the only good news, as the rest of the performance was subpar.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brian Hoyer completed 23 of 37 passes for 332 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a 41-39 loss to the Los Angeles Rams Thursday, Sept. 21.
Huddle Up: Coming off a terrible game, Hoyer started Week 3 with a brutal pick before rebounding for his best performance since leaving the Bears. Hoyer is capable of these kinds of showings, but he's also capable of what went down four days ago in Seattle. Still, if the matchup is juicy, Hoyer could offer short-term value.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brian Hoyer completed 15 of his 27 pass attempts for 99 yards and an interception in a 12-9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2.
Huddle Up: It has been a rough start to the year for Hoyer, albeit against two strong defenses. He will try to find a rhythm against the Rams in Week 3, but he is no more than a desperation QB2 at this point.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brian Hoyer completed 24 of his 35 pass attempts for 193 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 1 against the Panthers.
Huddle Up: Hoyer didn't do much, but he did appear to have a nice little rapport with Pierre Garcon. That's a combination to watch going forward. He isn't a recommended fantasy option in any format heading into Week 2 in Seattle, however.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brian Hoyer completed 12 of his 17 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings in the preseason Sunday, Aug. 27.
Huddle Up: We have seen quarterbacks thrive in Kyle Shanahan's offense in the past, and Hoyer isn't a bad gamble as a low-end QB2.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brian Hoyer is heading what is dubbed 'Camp Hoyer' prior to the start of training camp. At least 10 quarterbacks, wide receivers, tight ends and running backs attended workouts Monday, July 10, and Tuesday, July 11.
Huddle Up: Leadership shouldn't be a surprise from the veteran quarterback. It's a good sign that he and the offensive players are coming together, though, especially under a new regime. Unfortunately, Hoyer's leadership doesn't translate to fantasy football success. He's a bye-week replacement at best.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brian Hoyer is confident heading into his second stint with head coach Kyle Shanahan. Shanahan was the Cleveland Browns' offensive coordinator in 2014 when Hoyer quarterbacked the Browns. Hoyer said his familiarity with Shanahan's offense makes it easier for him to call plays, adding that it comes naturally to him now.
Huddle Up: Shanahan's offenses are usually exciting, but there's not a lot to be enticed with regarding San Francisco's offense, including Hoyer. The fact that he is the starter should not persuade people to draft him as a starting fantasy quarterback. At best, he is a bye-week replacement in good matchups.
