New England Patriots QB Brian Hoyer will be back to a reserve role in Week 6 against the Denver Broncos with QB Cam Newton (illness) back from the COVID-19 reserve list.

New England Patriots QB Brian Hoyer went 15-for-24 for 130 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. He also lost a fumble during the game.
Huddle Up: Hoyer was benched in the second half of the game, but it is not known if he would be the starter next week if Cam Newton is still sidelined. Fantasy players probably should avoid the Patriots quarterback situation until Newton returns.

New England Patriots QB Brian Hoyer was benched during the Week 4 game and has been replaced by QB Jarrett Stidham.
Huddle Up: Stidham has served as the No. 3 quarterback this season but entering the Week 4 game after Hoyer struggled. There is a chance that Cam Newton will miss the next game because he is recovering from COVID-19, so Stidham may receive the start in Week 5. Stidham should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

New England Patriots QB Brian Hoyer is expected to be the team's starter if the team's postponed Week 4 game is played Monday, Oct. 5 or Tuesday, Oct. 6.

New England Patriots QB Brian Hoyer will serve as the No. 2 quarterback in Week 1 with QB Jarrett Stidham inactive.

New England Patriots QB Cam Newton received 30 repetitions during team drills Sunday, Aug. 23, while QB Brian Hoyer received 12 reps during 11-on-11 drills.
Huddle Up: Newton appears to be on track to win the starting job especially with Jarrett Stidham dealing with an injury. He has played well in the past but has dealt with injuries over the last few seasons. Newton probably should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback at this point.

New England Patriots QBs Jarrett Stidham, Cam Newton and Brian Hoyer are competing for the starting job, but head coach Bill Belichick did not rule out the possibility of using a rotation at quarterback if it gives the team the best chance to win.
Huddle Up: None of the quarterbacks appear to have an advantage at this point, so fantasy players should continue to monitor the situation. Newton probably would have the most fantasy value if he wins the job, but his value would decrease if the team decides to use multiple quarterbacks.

New England Patriots QBs Cam Newton, Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer received equal repetitions during practice Monday, Aug. 17.
Huddle Up: Newton and Stidham probably are the main candidates for the job, but Stidham may have a small advantage since he is more familiar with the offense. Fantasy players should monitor the situation to see which quarterback wins the job. Newton could be a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback in deeper leagues if he starts, while Stidham would probably be a No. 2 quarterback.

New England Patriots QBs Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer have been working out with teammates this past week. WR Mohamed Sanu, WR Gunner Olszewski, RB Damien Harris and TE Dalton Keene were among the players participating in the workouts.
Huddle Up: Stidham will be competing with Cam Newton for the starting job during training camp, so fantasy players should keep an eye on the situation. Stidham may have an edge in the competition since he is familiar with the offense but would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he wins the job.
