Houston Texans QB Davis Mills threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns on 27-of-45 passing, and added a rushing score and 20 yards on the ground in Week 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Huddle Up: Mills, filling in for C.J. Stroud (concussion), was making his first start since Week 17 in 2023 against the Indianapolis Colts. He threw two touchdown passes in the final quarter and scrambled 14 yards for the go-ahead score with 31 seconds left, as the Texans rallied from a 19-point fourth-quarter deficit. Mills probably caught the attention of fantasy managers with his performance, but he's only valuable in two-QB leagues or for teams in need of an injury or bye-week replacement.

Houston Texans QB Davis Mills is scheduled to start for Week 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars with QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) out with a concussion.
Huddle Up: Mills didn't do a lot in relief against the Denver Broncos. With full snaps with the first team, he should be a lot more prepared. The Jaguars are a mid-tier passing defense, allowing 6.9 yards per pass, 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, with 25 pass plays of 20 or more yards. He is only recommended as a low-end QB2 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams.

Houston Texans QB Davis Mills completed 17-of-30 for 137 yards without a touchdown or interception in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos.
Huddle Up: Mills entered when C.J. Stroud sustained a concussion when he was hit at the end of a slide early in the first quarter. The Texans struggled to move the ball with Mills, punting six consecutive times after a field goal made it 15-7 on the first possession of the second half. We'll know more after the game about Stroud's status. If Stroud cannot go in Week 10, it would be Mills making the start.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of the Week 9 game against the Denver Broncos due to a concussion. He was knocked out in the first half, replaced by QB Davis Mills. Stroud finished 6-of-10 for 79 yards with 12 rushing yards. He was also sacked twice.
Huddle Up: We'll know more after the game about Stroud's status. If Stroud cannot go in Week 10, it would be Mills making the start. When healthy, Stroud is a borderline low-end QB1 or top QB2 in most leagues.

The Cincinnati Bengals conducted an extensive search for quarterback help before ultimately trading with the Cleveland Browns for QB Joe Flacco earlier this week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cincinnati reportedly expressed interest in Houston Texans QB Davis Mills, Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Howell and retired QB Derek Carr (Saints) before making a deal for Flacco. The Bengals did not check in on free-agent QB Ryan Tannehill because he has not played since the 2023 season.
