San Francisco 49ers LB Dre Greenlaw is happy to be back after one injury-filled season with the Denver Broncos, and he and LB Fred Warner are projected to start together. "It's really cool when I talk to the team, to sit back there and see those guys shoulder to shoulder," head coach Kyle Shanahan said. "I've seen them like that their whole careers together." Greenlaw is under contract for $6 million for one season, and $7.5 million based on incentives. He has not played a full season since 2019, but he did make 15 starts in consecutive seasons while posting at least 120 tackles in both 2022 and 2023.

It includes a $2.5 million signing bonus with all $6 million guaranteed and four void years (2027-2030). His 2026 cap number is $3.55 million with a $2.6 million base salary. He can earn $500,000 for making the Super Bowl and $400,000 per game played.

Denver Broncos impending free-agent LB Justin Strnad agreed to re-sign a three-year deal, and general manager George Paton said at the NFL Scouting Combine last month that the team wanted to return Strnad and impending free-agent LB Alex Singleton. However, the re-signing of Strnad might mean moving on from Singleton or LB Dre Greenlaw. Cutting Greenlaw would save the team $6 million in cap space in 2026.

LB Drew Sanders (ankle) fully participated in practice but has been ruled out.
