Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Rams QB Brett Rypien will be the starting quarterback for the Rams in Week 9, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Rypien will be replacing Matthew Stafford for at least one week and did not have much success in relief last week. This chance will hurt the fantasy value of the Rams pass catchers, but they can still be starters in most leagues. Rypien should be avoided in all leagues.

Although Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford (thumb) has not been ruled out for Week 9's game against the Green Bay Packers, multiple sources claim that the team is planning to have QB Brett Rypien make the start.
Huddle Up: The Rams also elevated QB Dresser Winn from their practice squad Saturday, Nov. 4, hinting that Stafford will probably be held out of action this afternoon, especially since the team has a Week 10 bye which would give him additional recovery time. Stafford's potential absence means WRs Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp could go from high-end fantasy starting options to WR3-level production with Rypien under center.

Huddle Up: In Rypien's first appearance of the season, he went 5-for-10 with 42 passing yards and no touchdowns or interceptions in Week 8 versus the Dallas Cowboys. He would not be a recommended option in any fantasy format if he is declared the starter.
