Tennessee Titans QB Ryan Tannehill will be the backup to QB Marcus Mariota, head coach Mike Vrabel said again on Sunday, July 7. He said Tannehill's job is to make Mariota better. 'His job as a backup - everybody's job as a backup - is to push the guy in front of him,' Vrabel said.
Huddle Up: Tannehill was obviously the starter in Miami, but he is insurance in case Mariota goes down to injury. However, you can scratch him off of your cheat sheets heading into training camp and the preseason barring a disaster in Nashville.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill was traded to the Tennessee Titans for an undisclosed return on Friday, March 15. The Titans subsequently signed him to a one-year undisclosed contract.
Huddle Up: He'll enter 2019 as a backup, but it's a solid landing spot for Tannehill in that he is in many ways a mirror image of Marcus Mariota, who struggles to stay healthy - like Tannehill. There will be no quarterback controversy in Tennessee and Tannehill will not be worthy of fantasy consideration for as long as Mariota is playing, but the Titans' offense should at least be functional if/when Mariota goes down.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill may find an interested suitor in the New York Jets - and former Dolphins head coach Adam Gase - if Tannehill is eventually released as expected, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
Huddle Up: It's easy to connect the dots given the history between Gase and Tannehill, but it also makes sense considering the Jets may not be willing to wait and see if Josh McCown - who will turn 40 this summer - will return for another year as a backup. Sam Darnold is the present and future in New York, so Tannehill will be a clear backup if he follows Gase to the Big Apple.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill has been made available to other teams in a trade, but the Dolphins have made most of the contact with teams at this point, according to a source.
Huddle Up: Tannehill will not return to the Dolphins next season, but the team is hoping to receive some compensation for him instead of cutting him. He probably will not be able to find a starting job this offseason and can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is expected to be released during the offseason, according to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero, who believes the chances of the team finding a trading partner for Tannehill are 'not great' due to his contract.
Huddle Up: It's been expected that Tannehill would be gone, but it now appears the Dolphins won't recoup anything of value in return. Tannehill was once considered a QB on the rise, but injuries and ineffectiveness have made his future a giant question mark. If he lands in an advantageous spot he might be worth a late-round flier, though even that might be overly ambitious.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill could face a contract restructure in the form of a pay cut this offseason, but the Dolphins still face $13.4 million in dead cap with Tannehill, according to Spotrac. He's a candidate to be released or traded.
Huddle Up: When Tannehill hasn't been injured he's largely been a disappointment. It would be understandable for Miami to lower his salary. No matter how much money Tannehill makes, he can be avoided in leagues with traditional lineups.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is one of the quarterbacks the Jacksonville Jaguars are considering pursuing this offseason, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Tannehill is expected to be traded or released this offseason, but it is not known how many teams may have interest. He has been limited to 24 games over the last two seasons because of injuries and probably would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts for the Jaguars in 2019.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is expected to be shopped to other teams this offseason.
Huddle Up: Tannehill is not expected to return to the Dolphins next season and likely will be released if the team is not able to trade him. He could find a starting job next year but likely will be no more than a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is expected to be released or traded this offseason.
Huddle Up: Tannehill has held to under 200 yards in each of his last three games and seven of the 11 games this season. He may be able to find a starting job with another team but should only be a low-end No. 2 fantasy quarterback in leagues next season.

Miami Dolphins WR Kenny Stills had three grabs for 27 yards on seven targets in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills and he tossed a three-yard touchdown back to QB Ryan Tannehill.
Huddle Up: Stills had rather erratic production this season, finishing up with 37 grabs, 553 yards and six scores. He has a ton of potential, but probably needs an upgrade in quarterback play to see more fantasy value.
