Washington Commanders RBs Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jeremy McNichols are the top two returning backs for the team. They added RBs Jerome Ford and Rachaad White in offseason transactions, while also adding RB Kaytron Allen in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The team is also intrigued by undrafted rookie RB Robert Henry Jr. The team hasn't had a No. 1 running back in a while, and it appears the team will enter the season with a running back by committee situation.
Huddle Up: Croskey-Merritt, a.k.a. "Bill", led the team with 815 yards last season, and he has added some size this offseason. The team hasn't had a 1,000-yard rusher since 2021, and only two in the past 11 seasons. The team might use a committee in the backfield, with Croskey-Merritt likely to be the first tailback off the board in fantasy drafts in the middle rounds, followed closely by White. McNichols is going to be worthy of an add with a late-round pick, too. The others are simply players to monitor.

Washington Commanders RB Rachaad White impressed the team's coaching staff during the offseason program, according to the Athletic's Ben Standig.
Huddle Up: White signed with the Commanders in free agency and is expected to compete for the starting running back role. With the Bucs, he proved to be a goal-line usage piece, as well as someone who was involved on passing downs. He could have some fantasy value based on the role he carves out in training camp.

Free-agent RB Rachaad White (Bucs) has agreed to terms with the Washington Commanders on a one-year deal on Thursday, March 12.
Huddle Up: White is an interesting option for the Commanders, as he was never the main running back in Tampa Bay. He can be an RB2 or flex option in 2026 due to his dual-threat ability in the Commanders' offense.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent RB Rachaad White could "make sense" as an option for the Jacksonville Jaguars if impending free-agent RB Travis Etienne is not re-signed, according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com.
Huddle Up: If Etienne does end up with a new team, it would make sense for the Jaguars to add a veteran back to pair with Bhayshul Tuten. White isn't flashy, but he could find his way into the flex conversation if he lands in Jacksonville.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Rachaad White rushed seven times for 23 yards and caught two passes for 18 yards in a 16-14 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 18.
Huddle Up: As has been the case when Bucky Irving is healthy, White served as a the main backup and saw some work in the passing game. He remained a quality handcuff, although the emergence of Sean Tucker cut into White's upside a bit. He will be a free agent his offseason, but depending on where he lands, White could continue to be one of the better backups.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RBs Bucky Irving and Rachaad White nearly split the backfield snaps right down the middle in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins, with Irving seeing 54 percent of the snaps, to White's 48 percent. White was on the field for some of Irving's snaps because he is the best pass-blocking tailback.
Huddle Up: As far as stats, neither did very well at all. Irving had 19 rushing yards on nine totes, good for just 2.1 yards per carry (YPC), while White had two runs for 10 yards, and a pair of receptions. If you were to start anyone in fantasy leagues in Week 18, or in DFS, Irving still has more upside in Carolina, as the Bucs look to lock up a division title.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Rachaad White rushed two times for 10 yards and caught two passes for seven yards in a 20-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 17.
Huddle Up: White has had a limited role in the offense in recent weeks, and over the last three games, he has a total of 13 touches. He has been reduced to a handcuff to Bucky Irving for fantasy purposes.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Rachaad White rushed five times for 45 yards in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers, while he had two receptions for 15 yards on his two targets.
Huddle Up: White did a good job averaging 9.0 yards per carry (YPC), while Bucky Irving had 3.7 YPC, and Sean Tucker had four carries and a rushing score. Irving is going to lead this backfield down the stretch, but White is worth a look in deeper fantasy formats.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Rachaad White had one carry for 20 yards versus the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15. He added a six-yard catch on his lone target.
Huddle Up: White logged a season-low two touches on Thursday night. As it happened, his previous low of three came against these same Falcons back in Week 1. Everyone knew his role would shrink with Bucky Irving back in the fold, but with the team now getting Sean Tucker involved as well, White is becoming an unreliable option for fantasy owners. Granted, he's just one game removed from a respectable 55-yard effort. Even with that, however, White hasn't scored since Week 6, and with such spotty usage, you're talking about significant risk for middling-at-best rewards.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Rachaad White rushed 11 times for 53 yards and caught one pass for two yards in a 24-20 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 14.
Huddle Up: With Bucky Irving back in the mix, White has operated as the primary backup the past two games. Sean Tucker also remains involved in the running back, but White's role in the passing games gives him a higher floor between the two backups.
