Dallas Cowboys RB Malik Davis seems to be the leading candidate for the No. 2 running back job this upcoming season, in the opinion of NFL.com's Kevin Patra.
Huddle Up: Davis has some solid performances during the end of the 2025 season but will have to win the backup job during training camp. He will see a handful of touches if he is the No. 2 back but can be avoided in fantasy leagues unless Javonte Williams suffers an injury.

Dallas Cowboys RBs Jaydon Blue, Phil Mafah and Malik Davis will all likely be candidates for the No. 2 running back job during training camp and the preseason, in the opinion of DallasCowboys.com's Kurt Daniels.

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue will compete with RB Malik Davis and RB Phil Mafah for the No. 2 running back job.
Huddle Up: Blue played sparingly as a rookie, but he has the speed to bring a big-play element to the Dallas offense. Of the players in the mix for the backup job, Blue probably has the most upside. Assuming he can secure the role, he will be worth stashing in most formats.

Dallas Cowboys RB Malik Davis (calf, eye) did not participate in practice Friday, Jan. 2, and has been ruled out for Week 18.
Huddle Up: The Cowboys will be without their top two running backs for the finale, so Jaydon Blue is the leading candidate to see most of the work in the running game. He can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

Dallas Cowboys RB Malik Davis (calf, eye) did not participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 1.
Huddle Up: Davis has missed the first two practices of the week and probably will have to be at least a limited participant in the final practice if he wants a chance to play. He will have some fantasy value if he plays but is a risky option at this point.
