New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead (knee) confirmed via social media earlier in the week that he will not play again this season. Multiple sources believe Burkhead suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Week 11 against the Houston Texans.
Huddle Up: Head coach Bill Belichick confirmed Sony Michel will be active for Week 12, but it remains to be seen what kind of role he can carve out with Damien Harris performing as well as he has in recent weeks. From a playing time perspective, James White figures to benefit the most from Burkhead's absence and should be a solid flex option in PPR leagues when New England finds itself in negative game scripts. Running backs coach Ivan Fears downplayed the likelihood of J.J. Taylor playing more, so fantasy owners can eliminate him from consideration.

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead ran six times for 31 yards in Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens. Burkhead was also targeted five times, catching four of them for 35 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Huddle Up: Burkhead's usage has been spotty this season, but it's trending in the right direction as he followed a 15-touch game in Week 9 with 10 combined touches on Sunday night. Although he's by no means a steady source of value, Burkhead could be trotted out in a flex slot.

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead rushed 12 times for 56 yards and a touchdown in Week 9 against the New York Jets and he added three receptions for 11 yards on three targets.
Huddle Up: Burkhead and Damien Harris split up the backfield touches, with Burkhead edging Harris 15-14 in that department. James White also added six total touches. Harris left the game late with a chest injury, so that's something to watch heading into Week 10. If Harris needs to miss any time, Burkhead could handle a larger load in Week 10 against the visiting Ravens.

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead rushed for 26 yards on six carries against the Buffalo Bills in Week 8. He also caught one pass for five yards during the game.
Huddle Up: Burkhead has received under 10 touches in each of the last three games and appears to have a smaller role in the offense. He will have a favorable matchup next week but can still be avoided in leagues.

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead ran four times for just 12 yards in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers while adding three catches for 35 yards on four targets.
Huddle Up: Damien Harris received most of the run out of the backfield, but Burkhead was second in line. The Patriots got away from the run late, as they were getting their doors blown off. It will be interesting to see how the muddled backfield fantasy picture shakes down in Week 8 in Buffalo. Right now it's best to avoid the headache.

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead rushed for 14 yards on five carries against the Denver Broncos in Week 6.
Huddle Up: Burkhead is part of a committee at running back, which hurts his fantasy value. He probably will see a handful of touches next week but can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead rushed for 45 yards on 11 carries against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. He also caught one pass for five yards during the game.
Huddle Up: Burkhead should continue to see around 10 touches per game moving forward but may not be a starting option in many fantasy leagues next week.

New England Patriots RB Rex Burkhead rushed six times for 49 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders and he added team highs with seven receptions, 49 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets.
Huddle Up: Burkhead was mostly invisible in the first two games, but he saw a much larger with James White inactive again. His fantasy staying power may or may not last, but hopefully you enjoyed the ride in Week 3. The Patriots travel to meet the Chiefs in Week 4.
