Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson will not ask for a trade even though the team is adding QB Daniel Jones to compete with him, according to his agent.
Huddle Up: Richardson's play has been inconsistent since entering the NFL but will have a chance to compete with Jones for the starting job during training camp. Fantasy players should keep an eye on the situation because Richardson will have some fantasy value if he plays.

Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson plans to work out with Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen at some point this offseason, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe.
Huddle Up: Richardson is expected to have competition for the starting job next season so working with Allen should help him improve his play. He is a solid fantasy option when playing and could be at least a high-end No. 2 quarterback if he starts.

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson will indeed face an open competition for the starting job after previous speculation, general manager Chris Ballard confirmed Tuesday, Feb. 25. The Colts will bring in a player to challenge him, likely in free agency, according to The Athletic's Zak Keefer.
Huddle Up: Richardson has flashed a few times as a pro, but injuries and erratic play have him fighting for the starting gig. Taking a step forward in Year 3 starts with fending off the unnamed competition by way of being more accurate as a passer. One has to expect the organization prefers the former first-rounder wins given the investment. Until we know more, the reality is Richardson's fantasy draft stock is at its lowest point over his short career.

Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson told ESPN.com's Stephen Holder that he expects to work with biometric expert Chris Hess this offseason. Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen recently credited Hess as being "the most influential person in my mechanical career" after Hess refined some parts of Allen's throwing motion during the early part of his pro career.
Huddle Up: Richardson saw his completion percentage drop to 47.7% in his first extended action as a pro in 2024 (11 games) after logging just four starts as a rookie. Allen noted that Hess helped him realize that his hip was too often out in front of his arm when throwing, which largely contributed to how often he was inaccurate in his early years with the Bills. It should come as no surprise if Hess reaches a similar conclusion about Richardson, who is a massively talented player with relatively little football experience and poor fundamentals. The good thing about Richardson this season - as it relates to fantasy - is that his cost will be low enough to draft as a QB2, which should be enough to make him a massive bargain if Hess can work his magic on him.

Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson likely will have competition for the quarterback job next season, according to general manager Chris Ballard. Ballard said Richardson needs to work on his durability and accuracy this offseason.
Huddle Up: Richardson was limited to 11 games this season and has only played 15 games in two seasons. He has thrown 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in those games and has a completion percentage of 50.6%. His running ability helps his value and probably will be the leading candidate for the job during training camp. He can be at least a high-end No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts next season.

Huddle Up: Joe Flacco will receive another start with Richardson unable to play. He has thrown 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions in his limited playing time this season and probably should be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (back) is not practicing Thursday, Jan. 2.
Huddle Up: It seems Richardson is trending toward ending the season on the sideline. Joe Flacco will be in line to start if Richardson can't go, making the veteran a high-end QB2 option for the finale.
