Dallas Cowboys RB Deuce Vaughn will be active for Week 17, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.
Huddle Up: Vaughn will take the place of Rico Dowdle (ankle), who is out. Vaughn is 5-foot-6 and 176 pounds, so he's not going to be running between the tackles but could be used as a gadget. If you have Pollard, he could be worth handcuffing to him. He's not worth starting against the Washington Commanders.

Dallas Cowboys RB Deuce Vaughn ran three times for seven yards in Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers, while adding a 1-yard catch on his only target.

Dallas Cowboys WR/KR KaVontae Turpin (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in the first half of the Week 5 game against the San Francisco 49ers, and he has been ruled out for the remainder of the game. Turpin had a 26-yard touchdown catch on his only offensive touch, while posting two kickoff returns for 33 yards before departing. RB Rico Dowdle replaced Turpin in the kick return game, while RB Deuce Vaughn replaced him on punt returns.

Dallas Cowboys RB Deuce Vaughn rushed eight times for 50 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for six yards in a 28-23 preseason loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars Saturday, Aug. 12.
Huddle Up: The Cowboys don't have a backup for Tony Pollard set in stone, but Vaughn is among the players in the mix. Considering Pollard has never had to handle a full season as a lead back, the rookie could be worth a late-round pick if he wins the backup job.

Dallas Cowboys third-round draft choice LB DeMarvion Overshown, fourth-round draft choice DE Villami Fehoko Jr., fifth-round draft choice OT Asim Richards, sixth-round draft choice RB Deuce Vaughn and seventh-round draft choice WR Jalen Brooks signed four-year contracts with the Cowboys Thursday, May 11. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Dallas Cowboys RB Deuce Vaughn is viewed as a potential every-down back, according to personnel director Will McClay. "You can run your regular offense through him," McClay said.
Huddle Up: With Ezekiel Elliott no longer in the mix, Vaughn could see some work behind Tony Pollard. Whether or not he carves out a big enough role to become fantasy relevant remains to be seen.

Kansas State RB Deuce Vaughn was selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the 212th overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: The Cowboys no longer have Ezekiel Elliott, so Vaughn may have a chance to earn a role in the offense during his rookie season. Fantasy players should monitor his progress during training camp because he could have value in some leagues.
