Las Vegas Raiders QB Geno Smith is likely to receive a new contract after he was acquired by the Raiders.
Huddle Up: Smith has one year left on his deal at a $31 million cap hit. He leaves a Seattle Seahawks team that had a loaded receiving corps for a rather barren one in Vegas. He'll be a QB2 in fantasy with less likelihood of breakout performances he showcased sporadically.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith is being traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft choice, according to sources.
Huddle Up: The Seahawks will now join the teams looking for a quarterback this offseason, so fantasy players should monitor the situation over the next few weeks. The Seahawks probably will be without Smith, Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf next season, and their starting quarterback in 2025 likely will be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith is being acquired by the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft choice, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Smith will be reunited with head coach Pete Carroll and will be the starting quarterback for the Raiders for the foreseeable future. He has thrown for at least 4,200 yards in two of the last three seasons but probably will be a high-end No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith and his agent are expected to begin discussions regarding a contract extension this week, according to general manager John Schneider.
Huddle Up: The Seahawks probably would not mind an upgrade to Smith, but they are unlikely to get one with the No. 18 pick in this draft. Smith has been good for Seattle since taking over the starting job in 2022, but it is hard to imagine him leading the team to a Super Bowl given what he has put on tape in three seasons. Smith runs enough to be a solid QB2 in fantasy, but it is hard to trust him as anything more than that regardless of the play-caller.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith will be the starting quarterback for the Seahawks next season, according to head coach Mike Macdonald.
Huddle Up: Smith has been the starter for the Seahawks for the last several seasons and is on track to keep that role for at least one more season. He has thrown for at least 4,200 yards in two of the last three seasons but probably will be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues next season.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith could receive a contract extension this offseason so the team can lower his salary cap number for next season. He is currently expected to count $44.5 million against the cap in 2025.
Huddle Up: Smith ranked in the top five this season with 4,320 passing yards and also threw 21 touchdowns during the season. He likely will continue to be the starting quarterback for the next few years but probably is only a No. 2 quarterback in most leagues.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith led all qualified quarterbacks with an on-target rate of 81.8% during the 2024 season, according to Pro Football Reference.
Huddle Up: Not only was Smith's on-target mark a career best, but it was also accompanied by a career-low 10.4% bad-throw rate. Smith has no guaranteed money left on the final season of the three-year contract extension he signed back in 2023, but he has probably done enough during his time as the starter in Seattle to play out the deal. He will do so this year under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who got the offense off to a great start in New Orleans this season before injuries ravaged the unit. Unfortunately, Kubiak's arrival is unlikely to provide Smith with enough of a bump to move him up from middling QB2 territory for fantasy purposes.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith completed 20 of his 27 passes for 223 yards and a career-high four touchdowns in a 30-25 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 18.
