Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell hopefully will be become more vocal with his teammates next season, according to head coach Antonio Pierce. "One thing I'd love to see him do is be more vocal. You don't want the quarterback being a church mouse. I don't need him to be a rah-rah guy either, but when things are wrong I need him to fix it and be vocal about it," Pierce said.
Huddle Up: O'Connell will be competing with Gardner Minshew for the starting job and likely will have to improve on several things if he wants to win the job. Fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation, but O'Connell will only be a No. 2 quarterback in deeper leagues if he wins the job.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell earned the right to compete in hopes of retaining the starting role, head coach Antonio Pierce said Sunday, March 24.
Huddle Up: O'Connell completed 62.1% of his passes for 2,218 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 11 games (10 starts) during the 2023 season. It's likely some type of competition will be brought in for O'Connell and if he's the starter, he would be a low-end QB2 option.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell will likely have competition for the starting job with the Raiders expected to be "hyperfocused on the quarterbacks" at the 2024 NFL Starting Combine, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell is likely to face some stiff competition for the starting quarterback job in 2024, as NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reports the team has "been in the market for a quarterback" and could make "a potential move up in the draft" to acquire one.
Huddle Up: O'Connell enjoyed a decent rookie campaign, throwing for 2218-12-7 in 10 starts, but he was never viewed as the long-term answer as a fourth-round pick last spring. This draft's top quarterbacks - as of mid-February - are USC's Caleb Williams, LSU's Jayden Daniels and North Carolina's Drake Maye. The likelihood is that all of them will be off the board inside the top five picks, so the Raiders would likely have to give up more than they are comfortable with to move up from No. 13. An interesting option who could be available if they stay put is Michigan's J.J. McCarthy.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell will have the chance to compete for the starting quarterback job next season, but the team likely will be adding another quarterback this offseason to compete with O'Connell, according to head coach Antonio Pierce.
Huddle Up: O'Connell took over the job during the second half of the season but did not post great stats. Fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation, but O'Connell will only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts for the Raiders in 2024.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell connected on 20 of 34 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns during the team's blowout win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday, Dec. 14.
Huddle Up: Everything went right for Las Vegas on Thursday night, but don't overreact. O'Connell entered play with four TD passes on the season. Consider this an outlier until proven otherwise.
