Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell and QB Gardner Minshew will be competing for the starting quarterback job during training camp, and head coach Antonio Pierce said there is no frontrunner for the job, according to ESPN.com's Paul Gutierrez. Pierce said he is not in a hurry to name a starter at this point.
Huddle Up: O'Connell may have a bit of an edge since he had some success with the Raiders last season, but Minshew could win the job. Fantasy players should consider the winner of the job to be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell is the favorite to be the team's starter in 2024, in the opinion of WR Davante Adams. "I want whoever is going to look the best when it's live bullets," Adams said. "I think right now if I had to say, I think Aidan has the job because obviously he was here before and that's the way that it was. He was running with the one's more and until Gardner comes in and takes the job away from him, I think it's Aidan's job right now."

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell "probably has the slight edge" in the quarterback competition with Gardner Minshew, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said on Sunday, June 23.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell received a majority of the snaps with the first-team offense during practice Wednesday, June 12, according to The Athletic's Tashan Reed.
Huddle Up: O'Connell will continue to compete with Gardner Minshew for the starting quarterback job when training camp starts. Neither quarterback will be a strong fantasy quarterback this season and probably will be a No. 2 QB in most leagues.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Gardner Minshew got the majority of first-team reps over QB Aidan O'Connell at mandatory minicamp practice on Tuesday, June 11.
Huddle Up: It's never a great idea to make too much out of one offseason practice, but this is noteworthy because the quarterbacks have split reps evenly up to this point. Even if Minshew wins the starting job, a QB21 finish in fantasy points per game in 2023 keeps him off the radar in redraft leagues. The same can be said for O'Connell, although he should still be rostered in dynasty formats.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell and QB Gardner Minshew have both received work with the first-team offense during organized team activities.
Huddle Up: O'Connell and Minshew likely will compete for the job during training camp and the preseason, so fantasy players should not expect a starter to be named in the near future. The winner of the competition should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell will initially work with the first-team offense when offseason workouts begin, according to head coach Antonio Pierce.
Huddle Up: O'Connell will be competing with Gardner Minshuew for the starting job during training camp, but he will open the offseason with the starters since the ended the season as the starter. He likely will be considered a low-end No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he wins the job.

Las Vegas Raiders QBs Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew will compete for the starting quarterback position in training camp, according to general manager Tom Telesco.
Huddle Up: Whichever QB wins the job will be a matchup play as a QB2 in fantasy.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell hopefully will be become more vocal with his teammates next season, according to head coach Antonio Pierce. "One thing I'd love to see him do is be more vocal. You don't want the quarterback being a church mouse. I don't need him to be a rah-rah guy either, but when things are wrong I need him to fix it and be vocal about it," Pierce said.
Huddle Up: O'Connell will be competing with Gardner Minshew for the starting job and likely will have to improve on several things if he wants to win the job. Fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation, but O'Connell will only be a No. 2 quarterback in deeper leagues if he wins the job.
