San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo was 'on target' - defined as a throw that would have hit the receiver - on 80.7 percent of his passes in 2019 - the fourth-highest mark in the league.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo will remain the team's starting quarterback for the long-term, according to general manager John Lynch Tuesday, Feb. 25. 'We're extremely proud of Jimmy and committed to Jimmy moving forward. He's our guy,' Lynch said, per Jennifer Lee Chan of CSNBayArea.com. 'The room for growth has not come close to hitting the ceiling.'
Huddle Up: Garoppolo has drawn the ire of fans for his unimpressive passing numbers in the playoffs and in Super Bowl LIV. He was highly efficient in the 2019 regular season while completing 69.1 percent of his pass attempts for 3,978 yards and 27 touchdowns against 13 interceptions. His fantasy allure will remain capped as long as the Niners stay committed to a run-first attack and he'll enter 2020 drafts as a mid-tier QB2.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo's 31 pass attempts of 20 or more yards in 2019 were tied for 29th in the league and were the fewest among quarterbacks who started all 16 games.
Huddle Up: Garoppolo had a handful of big performances last year, and 15 of his 27 touchdown passes came in four games. With the 49ers leaning heavily on the run, the big plays and big games are likely to remain sporadic for Garoppolo in 2020. Consider him a QB2.

San Francisco 49ers QB JImmy Garoppolo will remain the team's starting quarterback, head coach Kyle Shanahan said in an interview released Thursday, Feb. 6.
Huddle Up: Despite the 49ers' 2019 success, Garoppolo had an up-and-down season and finished 15th overall among fantasy QBs. He'll remain a solid QB2 option in one of the league's top offenses.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo only has attempted 27 passes so far in two postseason games. If the 49ers throw 25 or fewer times in Super Bowl LIV on Sunday, Feb. 2, they'll finish in the top five in terms of fewest pass attempts by a Super Bowl team in a single postseason. Each of the current five teams on the list played in 1974 or earlier, and each of them wound up winning the Super Bowl.
Huddle Up: Jimmy G. infamously has thrown for only 208 yards and one TD this postseason, and while the 49ers' running game does match up well with the Chiefs' less-than-stout run defense, count on the 49ers having to air it out more Sunday in order to keep pace with Patrick Mahomes and the explosive K.C. offense. Keep in mind that when the opposition has scored 21 or more points this season (seven games) against the 49ers, Garoppolo has averaged 35.1 passing attempts, 24 completions and 295.9 passing yards per outing.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo has the confidence of former 49ers QB and Hall of Famer Steve Young. 'When they've asked him to raise up and go win it, he did it,' Young said. 'Those are hard things to do. That just doesn't happen. When you see it in the NFL and someone is able to do it, you go, once you've done it, you can do it again. You can keep doing it.'
Huddle Up: Jimmy G wasn't a fantasy factor with his 11-of-19, 131-yards, one-TD, one-interception game in the divisional-round playoff win over the Vikings, but that's largely due to the Niners' overwhelming success on the ground (47 rushes-186 yards). When Garoppolo has been forced to pass, he's delivered the majority of the time, and his fantasy numbers Sunday likely will depend on how much the opposing Packers are able to get done against the San Fran defense.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo is set to make his first postseason start Saturday, Jan. 11, when the 49ers host the Minnesota Vikings in the divisional round.
Huddle Up: There are concerns abour Jimmy G's debut, especially given the way the Vikings' defense treated Saints QB Drew Brees a week ago, but he's done more than fine in five matchups against playoff teams this season, completing 67.4 percent of his passes for an average of 260 yards, eight total passing TDs and two interceptions.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo finished 22-of-34 for 200 yards and a touchdown in Week 15 versus the Atlanta Falcons. Garoppolo also added six yards on two carries.
Huddle Up: This performance is a reminder of why Garoppolo should remain little more than a solid fantasy QB2 or matchup-based starter as opposed to an every-week option. The Eastern Illinois product has thrown for four scores three times this season - including last week against the New Orleans Saints - but is averaging about 1.3 TDs in his other 11 games. Owners should consider other options in Week 16 versus the Los Angeles Rams.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 26 of 35 for 349 yards, four touchdowns and an interception at the New Orleans Saints in Week 14 on Sunday, Dec. 8.
Huddle Up: We've seen Jimmy G. play all sorts of football in the last month, throwing four touchdowns in one game vs. the Arizona Cardinals and again against the Saints, but he had only three strikes in the two contests in between. The 49ers host Atlanta in Week 15, and Garoppolo is a quality QB1.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 15-of-21 passes for 165 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 13 loss against the Baltimore Ravens.
Huddle Up: Jimmy G wasn't taking a lot of chances downfield in this one, but he didn't make a lot of mistakes, either, outside of a lost fumble. He'll look for more production in Week 14 under the dome in New Orleans.
