San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo has received some trade interest this offseason, but the 49ers have indicated that they would want a first-round pick in return for Garoppolo.
Huddle Up: General manager John Lynch has said Garoppolo will be the starter in 2021, but the team likely will select a quarterback with the third overall pick in the 2021 draft. Garoppolo probably will start for a team next season and should be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo is still part of the team's plans even though they acquired the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, according to general manager John Lynch.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation because Garoppolo could be moved if the 49ers receive a solid trade offer. Garoppolo probably would be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback no matter where he plays.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo is not a trade target for the New England Patriots at this point, according to sources.
Huddle Up: The Patriots re-signed Cam Newton this offseason, and he appears to be the leading candidate to start at this point. He has some fantasy value because of his legs but would be only a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts. Garoppolo's status is uncertain after the 49ers acquired the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, but he would also be a No. 2 quarterback if he remains the starter.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo will not be traded and still figures in the team's plans, according to sources, despite the 49ers trading up to acquire the third-overall pick in the 2021 draft Friday, March 26.
Huddle Up: Sure, Jimmy G, could definitely still remain as a 2021 placeholder if the Niners, say, were to draft a Trey Lance, a QB with a very limited number of college starts. But the likelihood of a Garoppolo trade grew exponentially with Friday's blockbuster move, and if the right deal is offered, look for the Niners to deal him away without much hesitation.

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said Wednesday, Feb. 24, the team will look to add a backup quarterback this offseason to insure against potential injury to starter Jimmy Garoppolo. 'Being available is a big part of this thing,' Lynch said. 'So we ... probably as a stated goal ... we have to insulate ourselves better. We got to have better options if he's not there.' Josh Rosen and Josh Johnson are the only other QBs under contract for 2021, along with Garoppolo.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo will be the starting quarterback for the 49ers next season as long as he is healthy, according to general manager John Lynch.
Huddle Up: Garoppolo was limited to six games this season because of injuries but has thrown 34 touchdowns over the last two seasons. Fantasy players can monitor the situation to see if anything changes, but Garoppolo can be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts for the 49ers.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) will not be available for the Week 17 game, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Huddle Up: C.J. Beathard is coming off a terrific Week 16 game and will be receiving another start with Garoppolo out. Beathard could be an option in some two-quarterback leagues but should be avoided in standard leagues.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) has not yet resumed practicing and will not play in Week 16's game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to a source. In fact, it is possible that Garoppolo may not resume playing until next season.
Huddle Up: With the 49ers mathematically eliminated from playoff contention and Garoppolo having the potential to cause further damage to his ankle if he returned to action too soon, there appears to be no good reason for the 49ers to have him suit up again this year. Nick Mullens will serve as San Francisco's starting quarterback in his absence but he shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a low-end QB2 option in deeper fantasy leagues due to his high turnover rate.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) is not expected to return for the Week 15 game against the Dallas Cowboys, as head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday, Dec. 14 that it is too risky to put Garoppolo out on the field until he is medically cleared. Garoppolo will be re-evaluated next week.
Huddle Up: Shanahan wouldn't commit to Nick Mullens or C.J. Beathard for the game against the Cowboys, but Garoppolo is likely out. If you were holding on to hope Garoppolo might return for a favorable fantasy matchups against Dallas, it might be time to consider alternate options.
