Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins completed 18-of-27 passes for 173 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 11 against the Denver Broncos before being lifted in the fourth quarter of the rout. Rookie QB Michael Penix Jr. finished in mop-up duty.
Huddle Up: Cousins and the Falcons will look to rebound in Week 13 after the team returns from its bye week. He remains more of a low-end QB1 or top QB2 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams.

The Atlanta Falcons may be interested in trading QB Taylor Heinicke and stashing a young quarterback on the team's practice squad, rather than keeping three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster, in the opinion of The Athletic's Josh Kendall. QBs Kirk Cousins and Michael Penix Jr. are ahead of Heinicke on the Falcons' depth chart.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. worked with the backups during minicamp while veteran QB Taylor Heinicke worked with the first team. Starting QB Kirk Cousins (Achilles') is still recovering from an Achilles' injury and did not take part in camp.
Huddle Up: We knew it on draft day, and we still know it now. Penix is ticketed for the bench this year and probably beyond, leaving him exclusively with value in keeper formats for patient owners.

Per Wyche, the Falcons tried to trade back into the first round in an attempt to draft Latu, who was selected by the Indianapolis Colts with the 15th pick.

Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. was selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the eighth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Penix likely will sit behind Kirk Cousins for a year or two before he can compete for the starting job. He will not have much value for the foreseeable future as long as Cousins stays healthy.

Huddle Up: Penix is likely to be more of a long-term fantasy option than one that might return dividends right away.
