Los Angeles Chargers WR Ladd McConkey had five receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown in a Week 4 defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs. McConkey led the team in all three categories, and he also had a team-high seven targets.
Huddle Up: The rookie seems to be settling in as Justin Herbert's No. 1 target. Granted, it's been a low-volume passing attack, but even within those constraints, McConkey has seen six or more targets in all but one of LA's first four games. The team is on bye next week, which should afford the ailing Herbert to heal up a bit and perhaps lead to a more productive offense in the weeks ahead. As roster depth in the WR5 realm, McConkey offers some upside.

Huddle Up: McConkey has been involved in the passing game early in the season but has not posted more than 40 yards in either game. He should see more targets as he becomes more comfortable in the offense and could become a possible flex option in some leagues later in the season.

Huddle Up: The Chargers didn't throw the ball much in the opener, but McConkey did end up leading the team in receptions, targets and receiving yards. It's only one game, but McConkey could be worth grabbing if available.

Huddle Up: There's definite upside with McConkey, and it's interesting to note that Palmer and Chark are running ahead of last year's first-round pick, Quentin Johnston. This is a situation that bears watching after Keenan Allen and Mike Williams both departed in the offseason.

Los Angeles Chargers WR Ladd McConkey drew some high praise from QB Justin Herbert, according to ESPN on Monday, July 1. "He's just picked up the offense so easily. It's like he's been a four- or five-year vet. He understands the game," Herbert said.
Huddle Up: Following the departures of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, McConkey could be in line for a heavy target share during his rookie season. He's primarily working from the slot, but there's plenty of upside with the second-round pick. Managers should consider McConkey as a fringe WR3 with upside to become a weekly starter in lineups.

Los Angeles Chargers WR Ladd McConkey looked like a veteran during offseason workouts and showed a good understanding of the scheme and good athleticism during practices, according to QB Justin Herbert. Herbert said he is looking forward to throwing to McConkey this season.
Huddle Up: The Chargers do not have a standout receiver on the roster, so McConkey could be a big part of the passing game as a rookie. He can be considered a No. 4 receiver in deeper leagues with the chance to be more valuable as the season goes on.
