Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals RB Trey Benson (knee) recently underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair his meniscus and is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Huddle Up: Michael Carter and Emari Demercado will likely share playing time while Benson is sidelined. Both players can be possible flex options in fantasy leagues, but players may want to see how they are used in Week 5 before considering them for their lineups.

Arizona Cardinals RB Trey Benson (knee) is being placed on injured reserve on Wednesday, Oct. 1. He will miss a minimum of four weeks.
Huddle Up: In his absence, the Cardinals are likely to use a split workload with Michael Carter emerging as the lead back for the time being. He is worth targeting on waivers and could emerge as a flex play in your lineup in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans.

Arizona Cardinals RB Trey Benson (knee) banged his knee near the end of the Week 4 game, and his status for Week 5 is in question.
Huddle Up: If he can't go, Emari Demercado and Michael Carter would likely split the work. They should both be picked up, and they could be flex candidates against the Tennessee Titans.

Arizona Cardinals RB Trey Benson (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Monday, Sept. 29, and head coach Jonathan Gannon said Benson is considered day-to-day.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players will need to check later in the week to determine Benson's injury and availability for Week 5. He has taken over as the starting running back for the Cardinals and can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues if he plays.

Arizona Cardinals RB Trey Benson ran eight times for 35 yards versus the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4. He also caught five passes (on five targets) for 19 yards.
Huddle Up: Benson rarely had much room to work with on Thursday night with Seattle swarming all over the running game. It's difficult to say if James Conner's physical style would've made a difference, but long term there's little doubt that Benson has fresher legs and is more apt to break some longer runs. Despite an underwhelming evening, Benson is a high-priority addition if he somehow hasn't already been scooped up off waivers and should at least be playable as an RB3 or flex in the weeks ahead.

Arizona Cardinals RB Trey Benson is averaging 6.0 yards per carry with 21 rushes for 125 yards through three games. That ranks second in the NFL among qualified rushers. Benson takes over as the lead back with RB James Conner's (ankle) season-ending injury. "I'm fully confident in Trey, I really am," head coach Jonathan Gannon said Monday. "I think the more he plays, the more comfortable you see him getting and the better he's going to be."
Huddle Up: Benson is the one you're going to want to drop all of your FAAB on this week. He should have been handcuffed to Conner in the first place, but now he has RB2 potential. Emari Demercado should now be handcuffed to Benson, but his standalone value is pretty minimal.

Arizona Cardinals RB Trey Benson rushed 10 times for a team-best 42 yards in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers, and he added three receptions for nine yards on four targets.
Huddle Up: Benson was seeing a bump in total touches with James Conner carted off due to an ankle injury. If Conner is forced to miss playing time, Benson is going to be a popular addition off the waiver wire this week. If he starts, he has low-end RB2 or flex ability in leagues of 12 or more teams.

Arizona Cardinals RB Trey Benson rushed three times for 14 yards in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers, while adding four receptions for 30 yards on six targets.
Huddle Up: Benson ripped off a long run in Week 1, but he was limited to seven total touches, as it was a slow go all around for the Arizona run game. At this point, Benson is best used as a RB4 or flex fantasy play in leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 3 at San Francisco.
