Arizona Cardinals third-round draft choice RB Trey Benson (Florida State) signed a four-year contract on Thursday, July 18. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Huddle Up: Arizona likely drafted Benson with the intent of having him replace James Conner as the primary back once the latter's contract runs out at the end of this season. What is less clear is if he or someone like Michael Carter will be Conner's primary backup in 2024. Assuming Benson wins the backup job as many expect, he should be considered one of the best handcuffs in fantasy considering that Conner has yet to play a full season during his NFL career.

Huddle Up: At the very least, Benson figures to be the primary backup to James Conner, and the two backs could split carries if Benson hits the ground running. It isn't the perfect situation from a fantasy prospective, but Benson should still be owned in all formats.
