Los Angeles Chargers WR DJ Chark Jr. was activated off injured reserve on Saturday, Nov. 2. Also, WR Brenden Rice (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve and CB Eli Apple and WR Jalen Reagor were elevated from the practice squad for Week 9.

Los Angeles Chargers CB Kristian Fulton (hamstring) and WR Brenden Rice (shoulder) did not practice on Friday, Nov. 1, and have been ruled out for Week 9 versus the Cleveland Browns. TE Stone Smartt (ankle) did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful. LB Joey Bosa (hip) and LB Denzel Perryman (toe) were limited in practice on Friday and are listed as questionable. WR DJ Chark Jr. (groin) practiced in full on Friday but is also listed as questionable. WR Derius Davis (hamstring), TE Will Dissly (shoulder), DT Morgan Fox (groin), RB J.K. Dobbins (rest), TE Hayden Hurst (groin), WR Quentin Johnston (ankle), LB Khalil Mack (rest), WR Ladd McConkey (hip) and DB Ja'Sir Taylor (leg) practiced in full on Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

Los Angeles Chargers third-round draft choice LB Junior Colson (Michigan), fifth-round draft choice DB Tarheeb Still (Maryland), fifth-round draft choice DB Cam Hart (Notre Dame), sixth-round draft choice RB Kimani Vidal (Troy), seventh-round draft choice WR Brenden Rice (USC) and seventh-round draft choice WR Cornelius Johnson (Michigan) signed four-year contracts on Friday, May 10. Los Angeles Chargers WR Brenden Rice has "an opportunity to carve out a role for himself early on," in the opinion of Chargers.com's Eric Smith, who notes that while there's a crowded receiver room for the Chargers, multiple spots along the depth chart are up for grabs.
Huddle Up: LA's receiver hierarchy will be something to watch carefully during the preseason given the presence of Justin Herbert. While the likes of Joshua Palmer, Quentin Johnson, and Ladd McConkey figure to have the inside track on the top spots, Rice's pedigree, and the presence of a new head coach and offensive coordinator, make the rookie seventh-rounder someone to keep an eye on.

USC WR Brenden Rice was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers with the 225th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Rice was expected to be a mid-round pick, but instead fell all the way to the seventh round. However, he couldn't be entering a better situation than Los Angeles, a team that has one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL and needs at the wide receiver position. Even still, he's nothing more than a deep dynasty stash and isn't an option in re-draft leagues until he earns himself a roster spot and role.
