Detroit Lions RB Sione Vaki was a "beast on special teams" during the first day of rookie minicamp, according to Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com, and general manager Brad Holmes said Vaki was the best special teams player in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Detroit Lions fourth-round draft choice OT Giovanni Manu, fourth-round draft choice RB Sione Vaki, sixth-round draft choice OG Christian Mahogany and sixth-round DT Mekhi Wingo signed four-year contracts with the Lions Friday, May 10. Financial terms were not disclosed.

University of Utah S/RB Sione Vaki is reportedly visiting with the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday, April 16. Vaki also wrapped up a visit with the Detroit Lions on Monday.
