Kansas City Chiefs RB Carson Steele rushed two times for six yards and lost a fumble in a 17-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4.
Huddle Up: After the fumble, Steele seemed to be benched in favor of Kareem Hunt. Whether or not the change is permanent remains to be seen, but fantasy owners need to take a a wait-and-see approach with Steele while grabbing Kareem Hunt off waivers where available.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Carson Steele carried the ball 17 times for 72 yards (4.2 yards per carry) versus the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Sept. 22. He added one reception (on two targets) for two yards.
Huddle Up: Steele saw the majority of the work at running back, especially on early downs, with Samaje Perine seeing more of the action in passing situations. The question with Steele is one of longevity. He was RB1 this week, but the team added Kareem Hunt to the practice squad, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire is eligible to come off the Non-Football Injury list after Week 4. Steele should at least retain value through next Sunday's tilt with the Chargers, but beyond that it becomes far less predictable. If you need short-term RB depth, you can make a move. Just be cautious about who you drop as Steele's fantasy appeal could evaporate with alacrity.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Carson Steele is expected to start Week 3's game versus the Atlanta Falcons. He will also have the first opportunity to receive starter carries while RB Isiah Pacheco (leg) is sidelined.
Huddle Up: Steele has nine carries for 27 rushing yards through the first two games of the regular season but can be viewed as a flex option in fantasy leagues for now because of the likely significant increase in playing time. RB Samaje Perine is also expected to see a handful of offensive snaps and RB Kareem Hunt could figure prominently into the Chiefs' running game down the line, although he will not play against Atlanta.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Carson Steele rushed seven times for 24 yards in Week 2 versus the Cincinnati Bengals.
Huddle Up: Steele has emerged as an occasional short-yardage option through two weeks, although he did not help his cause in this one by losing a fumble. Still, the Chiefs do not hesitate to give him the ball again later in the game. Steele might be worth an add in fantasy this week depending on the status of Isiah Pacheco, who was on crutches and in a walking boot after the game. If Pacheco is sidelined for Week 3 versus the Atlanta Falcons, Steele could have flex value in larger leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Carson Steele "finished training camp and the preseason as the leading backup" to RB Isiah Pacheco, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN.com.
Huddle Up: Steele showcased the ability to do a bit of everything during the preseason, and while Pacheco has emerged as a workhorse, Steele appears to be a worthwhile handcuff.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Carson Steele carried the ball four times for 50 yards and a touchdown against the Chicago Bears on Thursday, Aug. 22.
Huddle Up: Steele has been a surprise story in camp and has a good shot to make the 53-man roster. He'd likely slot in behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the depth chart, but Steele's attacking style of running is similar to that of Isiah Pacheco, so he might be worth keeping an eye on.
