Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase's absence from practice Thursday, July 25, was not injury related, according to head coach Zak Taylor. Chase would not say if his absence from practice was related to his contract situation.
Huddle Up: Chase is looking for a long-term contract, but team president Mike Brown indicated that a new deal was unlikely at this time. He likely will be back on the field at some point, but fantasy players can monitor the situation. Chase will be a weekly starting option in all leagues when he plays.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase did not participate in practice for a second straight day on Thursday, July 25.
Huddle Up: While head coach Zac Taylor noted a while ago that some veterans would have "limited" days over the first two weeks of training camp, most of the notable veterans - such as Joe Burrow, Trey Hendrickson and Tee Higgins - have already practiced in some capacity. Therefore, it is probably not a coincidence that Chase is seeking a new contract and not practicing. Given team owner Mike Brown's history, it is not likely the Bengals will move very fast on this if it is contract-related. However, fantasy managers have little choice but to believe Chase will return to practice at some point soon.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase may not receive a contract extension in the near future because the team wants to keep focused on football, according to team president Mike Brown. Brown said the team is not ruling out a new deal before the season but indicated that the offseason was a better time to negotiate an extension.
Huddle Up: It seems like Chase may need to wait until next offseason for an extension, but he will be with the Bengals for the 2024 season. He will be a significant part of the passing game for the Bengals and should be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Huddle Up: Chase is seeking a new contract and remains your prototypical WR1 in fantasy.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase is eligible for a contract extension but the team appears to be "in a holding pattern" because both sides are waiting for Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson to sign his inevitable extension first, according to ESPN.com's Ben Baby.
Huddle Up: Chase has two years remaining on his rookie contract and had his fifth-year option picked up earlier this spring but did not participate in voluntary team activities last month. He is hoping to be one of the league's highest-paid receivers and wants to see what type of deal Jefferson will get before heading to the negotiating table. Chase should be on the field for Week 1 of the regular season and should be a weekly starting option in all fantasy formats.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase is not at voluntary organized team activities Tuesday, May 28.
Huddle Up: Chase was the WR11 in 16 games in PPR leagues last season, and there's no reason to think he'll be anything less than a WR1 in drafts.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase and WR Tee Higgins are not participating in the voluntary workouts this offseason.
Huddle Up: Chase probably will take part in at least the mandatory minicamp and should be ready to go for training camp. It is not known if Higgins will consider a holdout because of his contract situation, but he and Chase should be on the field for Week 1. Both will be weekly starting options in fantasy leagues.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 18.
Huddle Up: Chase should be the focal point in the passing game this week against the Cleveland Browns and can be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.
