Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent Kenneth Walker III is unlikely to receive the franchise tag this offseason. The team has multiple free agents they'd like to retain, and Super Bowl tax costs have pushed the franchise tag out of range.
Huddle Up: K-9 could still return, but there's a chance another team throws a large sum at him. He was just the RB22 in PPR leagues despite playing in 17 games, and Zach Charbonnet was the RB25 in one fewer game. Charbonnet is recovering from a torn ACL, but the team could surmise the two backs are the same and let Walker go. If he stays in Seattle, he'll be a good RB2 with an expected workload boost with Charbonnet on the mend. However, he'd be an RB1 with a larger workload elsewhere.

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III could receive the franchise tag or the transition tag, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Huddle Up: Coming off Super Bowl MVP honors and with Zach Charbonnet recovering form a torn ACL, it would make sense for the Seahawks to retain Walker. Seattle managed his usage during the regular season, but his performance during the playoffs was a reminder of what he can do when given the reins of the backfield. If Walker is back with the Seahawks in 2026, he should be a quality RB2 option.

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III was named the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl LX, gaining 135 rushing yards on 27 carries and catching two passes for 26 yards.

Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold completed 19 of his 38 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown and added five rushing yards in a 29-13 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX. RB Kenneth Walker III gained 135 yards on 27 carries and caught two passes for 26 yards, and RB George Holani chipped in six rushing yards on two carries and caught a seven-yard pass. WR Cooper Kupp finished with a team-high six receptions on 12 targets for 61 receiving yards, and WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba hauled in four of his 10 targets for 27 yards. TE AJ Barner caught four passes for 54 yards and a touchdown, and WR Rashid Shaheed gained 27 yards on a pair of receptions. LB Ernest Jones led the defense with 11 tackles, including 10 solo stops, and LB Uchenna Nwosu returned an interception for a touchdown. S Julian Love also had an interception, and DT Byron Murphy II and DE Derick Hall both had two of Seattle's six sacks, and Murphy also recovered a fumble.

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III, an impending free agent after Super Bowl LX, has stepped up his play in the postseason with four rushing touchdowns after fellow RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) went down with a torn ACL earlier in the playoffs. "He's a phenomenal player, he's a great person, he's a great teammate," head coach Mike Macdonald said. "Again, those are things we are going to have to worry about, but not right now. Those are decisions we'll make in the future, but he knows how we feel about him, and I think we know how Ken feels about us."
Huddle Up: The Seahawks treated Walker with kid gloves in training camp, the preseason, and most of the regular season, splitting his workload with Charbonnet in a plan to preserve him for a postseason run. The plan was a wise one, as he produced a 1,000-yard season still, and he has been fresh in the playoffs, stepping up with Charbonnet out. Wherever he ends up in 2026, he is going to be a fantasy starter in most leagues, perhaps as a RB2 or flex play.

Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent RB Kenneth Walker III said he would like to re-sign with the Seahawks this offseason.
Huddle Up: Walker is coming off his second 1,000-yard season of his career in 2025 and will be one of the top running backs in free agency if he hits the market. Fantasy players can monitor the situation to see where he plays in next season, but he should be a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in fantasy leagues.

Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold completed 25 of his 36 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns and gained nine rushing yards on three carries in a 31-27 win over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game. RB Kenneth Walker III rushed 19 times for 62 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 49 yards, and RB George Holani served as the backup, rushing three times for four yards and gaining 27 yards on three receptions. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was Darnold's top target, catching 10 of his 12 targets for 153 yards and a touchdown. WR Cooper Kupp chipped in four receptions for 36 yards and a score, and WR Rashid Shaheed's lone catch went for 51 yards. TE AJ Barner finished with two catches for 13 yards, and WR Jake Bobo hauled in a 17-yard touchdown. LB Ernest Jones led the way for the defense, finishing with a team-high 8 tackles, including six solo stops. DL DeMarcus Lawrence recorded Seattle's only sack, and CB Riq Woolen broke up a pair of passes.

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III is expected to serve as the team's workhorse running back in the NFC Championship Game versus the Los Angeles Rams, with RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) sidelined. RBs Cam Akers and George Holani will serve as backups, according to a source, with several packages designed for each player.
Huddle Up: Walker had three touchdowns and 116 rushing yards in last week's Divisional Round playoff game versus the San Francisco 49ers and should be treated as a must-start option in all fantasy formats, especially given his success facing the Rams' defense this season. Both Holani and Akers can be viewed as flex options in playoff fantasy leagues.

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III faces the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game, and in two meetings with the Rams in the regular season, Walker rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries and caught six passes for 108 yards.
Huddle Up: Walker piled up his impressive yardage totals while splitting touches with Zach Charbonnet, and this time around, he will have the backfield to himself thanks to Charbonnet's knee injury. Walker could be one of the top overall performers in fantasy playoff contests this weekend.

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III matched a franchise record with three rushing touchdowns, 116 rushing yards and 19 carries in the NFC Divisional Round playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Huddle Up: Walker was treated with kid gloves all season, as he dealt with a foot injury, as coach Mike Macdonald was preserving him just for moments like this when the games meant the most. And, ironically enough, Zach Charbonnet, who helped keep the mileage off of Walker's tires, suffered a season-ending knee injury against the 49ers, so it's the Walker show from here on out.
