Huddle Up: While Smith is far from a franchise quarterback at this stage of his career, but he will likely be an upgrade at the position for the Jets compared to last season. That being said, Smith will be a low-end QB2, at best, for fantasy owners.

Updating previous reports, New York Jets QB Geno Smith won't be charged from a June 21 incident in which a woman claimed domestic violence. The woman, a longtime friend and casual intimate parter of Smith's who provides paid childcare for his son in her multifaceted role as his "manager," did not show up to two appointments to provide a sworn statement to police and later had her attorney inform officers that she would not be providing one.
Huddle Up: Since the criminal case won't continue, it's hard to see the league disciplining him as well. Smith remains a midrange QB2 best utilized in two-QB leagues.
