Updating a previous report, New York Jets QB Geno Smith (foot) is considered day to day due to foot soreness which kept him out of the team's preseason opener Friday, Aug. 14, according to head coach Aaron Glenn.
Huddle Up: Smith's next opportunity to see preseason game action will come against the Pittsburgh Steelers Friday, Aug. 21. The 35-year-old veteran should be viewed as a QB2 option in all fantasy formats.

Updating previous reports, New York Jets QB Geno Smith won't be charged from a June 21 incident in which a woman claimed domestic violence. The woman, a longtime friend and casual intimate parter of Smith's who provides paid childcare for his son in her multifaceted role as his "manager," did not show up to two appointments to provide a sworn statement to police and later had her attorney inform officers that she would not be providing one.
Huddle Up: Since the criminal case won't continue, it's hard to see the league disciplining him as well. Smith remains a midrange QB2 best utilized in two-QB leagues.
