Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Addison will have his fifth-year option exercised this offseason, according to interim general manager Rob Brzezinski.
Huddle Up: Addison saw his numbers drop this past season but will continue to be one of the main receivers for the Vikings over the next few seasons. He can be considered a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Free-agent WR Jalen Nailor (Vikings) officially signed with the Las Vegas Raiders Thursday, March 12. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Nailor will be a top-three receiver for the Raiders and could push for a starting job during training camp. He has a chance to see a decent amount of targets each game and can be a possible late round pick in deeper leagues.

Impending free-agent TE Ben Sims (Vikings) and the Miami Dolphins have reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year deal, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network on Wednesday, March 11.
Huddle Up: In 45 career games across three NFL seasons, Sims has tallied 11 receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown. As a blocking tight end, Sims is safe to ignore for fantasy football in 2026.

Impending free-agent QB Carson Wentz (Vikings) is reportedly 'unlikely to be signing with the New York Jets as of now', according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic on Wednesday, March 11.
Huddle Up: Wentz, the well-traveled nomad who has been on five teams in the last five seasons after the previous five in Philadelphia, will likely be looking to don his seventh different uniform in his career in 2026. It doesn't seem like that jersey will be a Jets one as of right now. Wentz started five games in 2025 for the Vikings, tossing eight touchdown passes and finishing with a 2-3 record. It's unlikely Wentz's seventh team in his career will be the one to give him fantasy relevance, so we can ignore him for now.

Minnesota Vikings RB Aaron Jones will return to the team next season after agreeing to a revised contract with the Vikings, according to sources. Jones is now scheduled to receive a $5.5 million base salary in 2026.
Huddle Up: There was a chance that Jones would be released this offseason, but he has agreed to a reworked contract and will play for the Vikings in 2026. He will likely see a similar role next season and can be a No. 3 running back in most fantasy leagues.

Impending free-agent WR Jalen Nailor (Vikings) agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders Monday, March 9, worth $35 million. The deal will include $23 million in guaranteed money.
Huddle Up: Nailor will likely be a starter right away for the Raiders and should see a decent amount of targets each game. He has played well at times over the last few seasons and could be a No. 4 receiver in fantasy leagues.

Minnesota Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson will have the final year of his deal deleted as part of the recent agreement to restructure his contract, meaning that he will become a free agent after the 2026 season, according to multiple sources.
Huddle Up: Although he is only 28 years old, inconsistent quarterback play and injuries in recent years mean that Hockenson should best be viewed as a TE2 option in most fantasy leagues, barring a significant improvement in the performance of QB J.J. McCarthy in 2026. In 15 games last season, Hockenson had 51 receptions for 438 yards and three touchdowns.

Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson did an undisclosed restructure of his contract Friday, March 6.
Huddle Up: Jefferson finished as the WR20 in PPR leagues last season, which really hurt teams that took him in the top five or six picks. He's an elite talent, but the questions at quarterback may hold his value back to an eighth or ninth pick in the first round.

Minnesota Vikings RB Aaron Jones has been informed that, barring a trade, he will be released at the start of the league year this month. His release will save the team $7.75 million against the cap.
Huddle Up: Jones was limited to 12 games due to nagging injuries, and he averaged a career-low 4.2 yards per carry, while tying a career low with just two rushing scores. The good news is that he had zero fumbles on 132 carries, his first season since 2017 in Green Bay without putting a ball on the ground. After a career-high 1,138 rushing yards in his initial campaign in 2024, he tailed off. At 31 years old, the market isn't likely clamoring for him to be anything more than a serviceable backup, but you never know.

Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy has fallen out of favor in the Twin Cities, and the organization is looking to trade him. He has started 10 games in his first two seasons.
Huddle Up: McCarthy missed his first season due to a torn meniscus, and he was underwhelming in 2025 when given a chance at full-time starter. It didn't help that 2024 starter Sam Darnold was allowed to walk, signing with the Seattle Seahawks, who eventually won the Super Bowl. The Vikings had their guy, and let him go. The Vikings would be trying to deal McCarthy when his value is extremely low, so a team might roll the dice and take a chance on the former first-rounder. As a fantasy manager, though, you shouldn't be as exploratory.

Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy and the Vikings could part ways this offseason, as reportedly, the team is 'quietly exploring an exit strategy' with the quarterback, according to Tony Pauline of EssentiallySports.com on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Huddle Up: After a shaky 10 games as the starting quarterback of the Vikings in 2025, McCarthy is in a rather unstable spot for his fantasy present and future. Throwing 12 interceptions to just 11 touchdowns, McCarthy struggled with accuracy all season. The Vikings have long been rumored to be bringing in quarterback competition for McCarthy this offseason, but Minnesota may take the extra step of cutting its losses. McCarthy is an untrustworthy fantasy option right now, as consistency and improvement are needed before we can trust him in fantasy lineups in 2026 and beyond.

Minnesota Vikings executive vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski said the team will, "cast a wide net" as it relates to who they bring on to be with QB J.J. McCarthy in the quarterback room.
Huddle Up: McCarthy will likely be facing some competition in training camp, it is just a matter of who. Depending on the name they bring in will speak on their expectations for McCarthy during the season. Regardless, however, fantasy players can avoid J.J. McCarthy until told otherwise.

Minnesota Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson, in the third-year of a four-year, $66 million contract extension signed prior to 2023, will have a cap number of $21.3 million for 2026. At that price, he would have the highest cap number of any tight end in the NFL. He managed 51 receptions for 438 yards and three touchdowns in 2025, his lowest yardage total since joining the team at the trade deadline in 2022.
Huddle Up: Hockenson was once one of the more feared tight ends in the NFL, but he has had to battle through injuries in the past few seasons, limiting his production. It would also help if the Vikings would have had some stability at QB in 2025. Hockenson is still just 28 years old, and only two seasons removed from a career-high 95 reception season with a career-best 960 receiving yards in 2023, his first full season in the Twin Cities. Heading into 2026, Hockenson has the potential to rebound, but he needs to stay healthy, and he needs JJ McCarthy, or whomever is under center, to be much better.

Minnesota Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson could be cut this offseason, in the opinion of NFL.com's Matt Okada.
Huddle Up: After a 2022 trade that sent Hockenson from Detroit to Minnesota, Hockenson had a banner 2023 season with 127 targets, 95 receptions, 960 yards and five touchdowns. In the following two seasons, Hockenson has produced a combined 128 targets, 92 receptions, 893 yards and just three touchdowns across the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Cutting Hockenson saves Minnesota almost $9 million before June 1, but after June 1, the Vikings would shed $16 million in cap savings by letting Hockenson go. Entering his age-29 season in 2026, Hockenson hasn't put up a recent track record of fantasy success, and that production may not suddenly rebound with a new team either. That said, Hockenson may have some sporadic usefulness as a fantasy TE2 on the Vikings or elsewhere in 2026.

Minnesota Vikings RB Aaron Jones could be cut this offseason, in the opinion of NFL.com's Matt Okada.
Huddle Up: Jones has long been an underappreciated fantasy running back, but in his age-31 season and second season with the Vikings, Jones' 2025 season saw him take a slight step back in production. Missing five games, Jones still averaged 4.2 yards per carry and posted 548 rushing yards with three total touchdowns. Minnesota is well into the red in terms of the cap threshold, so for a team looking to alleviate that huge $40.1 million negative cap, jettisoning Jones to free up almost $7 million could be in the cards. At this stage of his career, Jones could be a useful committee back for several NFL teams if he were to be cut by the Vikings. There may be some usefulness left with Jones in 2026, so for fantasy, pay attention to where he's playing football this upcoming season.

Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Addison is expected to draw trade interest from the Buffalo Bills, according to Grant Cohn of Sports Illustrated.
Huddle Up: It is no secret that the Bills need a go-to option at the wide receiver position, and while Addison has missed some games because of issues off the field, he has been a productive player overall. His value would see a significant boost if he ends up as Josh Allen's top target in 2026.

Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent WR Jalen Nailor is a player the team would like to re-sign, according to Grant Cohn of Sports Illustrated.
Huddle Up: Nailor has caught 10 touchdowns over the past two seasons while mainly operating as Minnesota's No. 3 receiver. Cohn also reported that the Vikings could be willing to move on from Jordan Addison, which would further cement the team's belief in Nailor's ability to elevate to the No. 2 receiver role. With a bigger role, Nailor could be in the WR3 mix, but his upside will largely depend on the development of J.J. McCarthy.

Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy will have competition next season since the team is expected to add a veteran quarterback to the roster this offseason.
Huddle Up: McCarthy was limited to 10 games this season because of injury and threw 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He will have to compete for the starting job during training camp and will be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback even if he wins the job.

Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Addison will not face charges and now will prepare for the filing of a civil claim arising from the alleged wrongful arrest.
Huddle Up: Addison's numbers have dropped in two consecutive years, which playing in fewer games each season contributed to. He had a 42-610-3 line last season, and the stability of the quarterback position will loom large on his fantasy appeal in 2026. He'll be in the WR3 conversation with big potential spikes of boom or bust each way.

Minnesota Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson could be a salary cap casualty this offseason, according to Ben Solak of ESPN.com. The Vikings would save nearly $9 million in cap space before June 1 and $16 million if Hockenson was designated after June 1.
Huddle Up: Hockenson has battled injuries recently, and he has finished with less than 500 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons. Regardless of where he ends up playing in 2026, Hockenson looks like a low-ceiling TE2 at this stage of his career.

Minnesota Vikings WR Jalen Nailor posted three receptions for 49 yards on three targets in Week 18 against the Green Bay Packers. He ended the season with career bests of 29 receptions and 444 yards, while adding four touchdowns.
Huddle Up: Nailor picked a good time to have a career year, as he is a free-agent-to-be. He might never be a WR1 in the NFL, but the sixth-round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft has posted 10 touchdowns in the past two seasons, and he might be in line for a big payday and a chance at a larger role elsewhere. Depending upon where he goes will dictate the amount of fantasy appeal he will have in 2026.

Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson ended up with eight receptions for 101 yards on 11 targets in Week 18 against the Green Bay Packers, while running once for three yards. He ended up going over 1,000 yards on the season, 1,048 to be exact, with the solid finish.
Huddle Up: Jefferson's yardage total was a career low, even lower than the 1,074 he posted in 2023 in just 10 games due to injury. It's no surprise, as he had the likes of J.J. McCarthy, Carson Wentz and Max Brosmer throwing to him. It's actually quite surprising that Jefferson was still able to post his sixth 1,000-yard campaign in as many NFL seasons. It's a testament to how great of a receiver he is. If Minnesota can get an NFL-caliber QB under center in 2026, with either McCarthy taking a big step forward, an NFL veteran joining the fray or the team drafts another big-time arm, Jefferson could be back as a top-tier fantasy talent. Watch the offseason moves closely in the Twin Cities.

Minnesota Vikings RB Jordan Mason rushed 14 times for 94 yards in Week 18 against the Green Bay Packers, while he was not targeted in the passing game.
Huddle Up: Mason had a pretty good season with 758 rushing yards, 4.8 yards per rushing attempt and six rushing touchdowns despite some shaky quarterback play putting pressure on the run game. If he is back in the Twin Cities in 2026, he could be a decent middle-round fantasy option on draft day. He isn't RB1 material, but he proved he can be a useful RB3 or flex fantasy option, especially when the matchup is favorable.

Minnesota Vikings QB Max Brosmer completed 7-of-8 passes for 57 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in relief of the injured QB J.J. McCarthy (hand) in Week 18 against the Green Bay Packers.
Huddle Up: Brosmer appeared in a handful of games, but he isn't a long-term answer in the Twin Cities, even if the team decides McCarthy also isn't the guy. It wouldn't be shocking to see the team add a big-name free-agent QB, or draft another signal caller early. Brosmer isn't a recommended fantasy option in 2026.

Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy (hand) checked out of the Week 18 game in the second half after apparently aggravating his right hand injury. McCarthy was 14-of-23 for 182 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions with two runs for seven yards before departing. QB Max Brosmer entered the game for McCarthy.
Huddle Up: If McCarthy is done for the day, it would be a disappointing finish to an injury-riddled season. It's especially tough for Vikings fans, as last year's QB, Sam Darnold, steered the Seattle Seahawks to the No. 1 seed in the NFC, while Minnesota has missed the playoffs. The Vikings also had Daniel Jones in the building at the end of last season, and they let him walk, too. McCarthy might not be the long-term solution, and we'll see if they bring in a veteran or use a draft pick to address the situation heading into 2026. If McCarthy is the starter again, he is nothing more than a low-end QB2 in most fantasy leagues.

TE Gavin Bartholomew (back) practiced in full all week and has been ruled out. CB Dwight McGlothern (hip) was limited in practice on Friday, Jan. 2, and is listed as questionable. DL Jonathan Allen (rest), DL Javon Hargrave (rest), and S Harrison Smith (rest) were limited in practice on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report. Minnesota Vikings RB Jordan Mason (ankle) practiced in full on Friday, Jan. 2, and no longer appears on the injury report.
Huddle Up: With Aaron Jones being ruled out for Week 18, Mason will be the leadback and has a chance to produce in the role. He can be either an RB2 or a flex option in Week 18 lineups.

Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy (hand) will start Week 18 against the Green Bay Packers.
Huddle Up: McCarthy being named the starter allows for him to prove himself one last time before a pivotal offseason for the Vikings. He is looking to solidify himself as their starter for 2026, and this week could determine that for him.
