Denver Broncos RB RJ Harvey saw a lot of work in the passing game during rookie minicamp Saturday, May 10, and head coach Sean Payton said he liked what he saw out of Harvey. "Well, he's going to play on third down," Payton said. "There's a lot we can do to suit his strengths."
Huddle Up: It sounds like Harvey is already set to be the third-down back in Denver, and he should at least split some of the carries. It isn't out of the question that Harvey emerges as the lead back for the Broncos, and he could have RB2 potential in PPR formats.

Denver Broncos RB RJ Harvey "figures to be the first option in the run game," in the opinion of ESPN's Jeff Legwold, assuming he displays the same kind of speed he showed at Central Florida. Legwold adds that Harvey should see work on early downs right away and could see an expanded role if he shows consistency as a receiver.
Huddle Up: Denver's ground game a season ago was a mess, and Jaleel McLaughlin is their top returning rusher with just 496 yards. With Bo Nix coming off a strong rookie season, the team hopes the addition of Harvey will allow them to field a more balanced offensive attack in 2025. Harvey looks like a possible RB3 at this point with some upside, and he should be the No. 1 back to target in Denver's backfield for fantasy owners.

Central Florida RB RJ Harvey was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 60th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Harvey likely will be part of a committee at running back but could earn a majority of the snaps if he performs well during training camp. He can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues depending on his workload.

Central Florida RB RJ Harvey is scheduled to have official visits with the Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers before the 2025 NFL Draft. He has had virtual meetings with the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks.

Central Florida RB RJ Harvey measured in at 5-foot-8 and 205 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine. He posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.40 seconds, a 38-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-7-inch broad jump as well.
