Washington Football Team QB Taylor Heinicke completed 34 of his 46 passes for 336 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception against the New York Giants on Thursday, Sept. 16. Heinicke also ran four times for six yards.
Huddle Up: Making his first regular-season start for Washington, Heinicke was up and down. His throw to Ricky Seals-Jones in the corner of the end zone was a thing of beauty. His late interception almost cost his team the game. One thing is for sure, though, the moment didn't look too big for Heinicke, who should continue to get more comfortable as he gains experience. If you're lacking for QB depth you can consider picking up Heinicke as a reserve.

Washington Football Team QB Taylor Heinicke has belief from head coach Ron Rivera that he can handle the starting duties. Heinicke has shown good mobility and accuracy when he is forced out, but the team wants to hone him in a bit. 'He plays a little bit like his hair is on fire,' Rivera said. 'He plays a little bit like a gunslinger. But I think, and I hopefully believe that he's matured a little bit.' I think just understanding the game even more so. He's learned to be patient, take what's given to him, and I think he has a really good feel for when he takes his shots, too.'
Huddle Up: What you can read between those lines is that Heinicke has big-play ability, but they want to hone him in. He was impressive in their playoff loss last year with 306 passing yards, one score, one pick, 46 rushing yards and one rushing score. So you can see the ability is there. He'll be a QB2 and a popular pickup in two-QB leagues.

Washington Football Team QB Taylor Heinicke completed 11-of-15 passes for 122 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions while running for 17 yards.
Huddle Up: Heinicke was forced into the game early when veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick went down with a hip injury. It's uncertain if the veteran Fitzpatrick will need to miss more time, but Fitzmagic doesn't have much time to recover with a Thursday game in Week 2. Heinicke isn't worth using in most fantasy leagues if he starts.

Washington Football Team QB Dwayne Haskins completed 14-of-28 passes for 154 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 16 against the Carolina Panthers before being benched midway through the fourth quarter in favor of QB Taylor Heinicke.
Huddle Up: Haskins likely played his final down for Washington barring a change of heart heading into Week 17. We'll see what head coach Ron Rivera chooses to do. If Haskins lands in another spot, he has a lot of work to do before gaining any fantasy relevance.
