The Atlanta Falcons are in the process of deciding whether to bring back QBs Taylor Heinicke and Desmond Ridder next season or bring in a new quarterback via draft, free agency or trade. Meanwhile, last season's third-string quarterback, Logan Woodside, is a restricted free agent. Head coach Raheem Morris and offensive coordinator Zac Robinson have said that all options are on the table in the search for a starter and that they are open to considering both pocket passers and more mobile players.
Huddle Up: Both Heinicke and Ridder were inconsistent and ineffective last season and there's a possibility that one or both quarterbacks could be suiting up elsewhere by the beginning of the 2024 campaign. Neither player is expected to have much value in any fantasy format going forward.

Atlanta Falcons QB Taylor Heinicke (ankle) will not be active for Week 18's game against the New Orleans Saints.
Huddle Up: Heinicke had been listed as questionable on the injury report after logging three limited practice sessions during the week but will find himself on the bench this afternoon. QB Desmond Ridder will receive the starting nod versus New Orleans but is not a recommended fantasy option.

Atlanta Falcons QB Taylor Heinicke (ankle) is hopeful of being able to start Week 18's game against the New Orleans Saints, according to a source. He will be watched closely in pregame warmups in order to determine if he will have enough mobility to play.
Huddle Up: Heinicke had been listed as questionable on the injury report after being a limited practice participant throughout the week. He is coming off a shaky performance in Week 17 and should be avoided in most fantasy leagues even if he is declared active.

Atlanta Falcons QB Taylor Heinicke (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 5, and is listed as questionable for Week 18.
Huddle Up: Heinicke was a limited participant in all three practices this week, so he should have a good chance to play in the regular season finale. He is coming off a disappointing Week 17 game and probably can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Atlanta Falcons QB Taylor Heinicke (ankle) was limited for the second straight day on Thursday, Jan. 4.
Huddle Up: Heinicke followed the same path last week before putting in a full practice and playing. Even if he plays, he's nothing more than a desperation QB2 play.

Atlanta Falcons QB Taylor Heinicke (ankle) will be a limited participant during practice Wednesday, Jan. 3, according to head coach Arthur Smith.

Atlanta Falcons QB Taylor Heinicke (ankle) is dealing with an ankle injury, and his availability for Week 18 will not be known until later in the week, according to head coach Arthur Smith. QB Desmond Ridder will start if Heinicke is unavailable to play.
Huddle Up: Fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation to see if Heinicke will be able to do anything during practice this week. Neither Heinicke nor Ridder have posted great numbers this season, so players can avoid both.
