Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle) told reporters Thursday, Feb. 2, he was able to avoid an aggravation of his high-ankle sprain in the AFC Championship versus the Cincinnati Bengals.
Huddle Up: Mahomes noted he is in "a good spot" outside of some general soreness. His availability and mobility will obviously take on added importance versus the Philadelphia Eagles, who have amassed a wildly impressive 78 sacks this season. Mahomes will have his work cut out for him against a defense with two top-flight cornerbacks and a ferocious pass rush, making him the less attractive fantasy quarterback of the two playing next weekend.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Feb. 1. The Chiefs did not hold a practice Wednesday, so this is an estimation.
Huddle Up: Mahomes was able to play in the AFC Championship game and should be fine with two more weeks of rest for the ankle. He continues to be one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and is a must-start option in fantasy leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle) is "moving around good" and is fully expected to play in the AFC Championship Game versus the Cincinnati Bengals, according to comments from head coach Andy Reid on Friday, Jan. 27.
Huddle Up: Mahomes somehow practiced in full all week despite suffering a high-ankle sprain last weekend. Despite how impressive of a feat that is, there is almost zero chance he will move around much against the Bengals or be anywhere close to his usual self. While Mahomes may not end up being as immobile as it appeared he might be at the beginning of the week, Cincinnati figures to bring more pressure than it normally would to stress the ankle.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle) was a full participant in practice for the second straight day on Thursday, Jan. 26.
Huddle Up: Two full practices to start the week means Mahomes will play. However, now the question becomes, how much pain will he be in? High-ankle sprains usually take four to six weeks to fully heal, yet he's playing one week after suffering the injury. If his mobility is limited, the Chiefs QB could be a sitting duck in the pocket. Mahomes should still be a solid DFS option this week, but temper expectations.
