Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has agreed to restructure his contract, which will allow the team to create $17 million in salary cap space, according to sources.
Huddle Up: Mahomes recently signed his huge extension, so he was an obvious candidate for a reworked deal. He is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and likely will be the first quarterback selected in fantasy drafts in 2021.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (toe) is expected to be ready for training camp and could be ready for mandatory mini camp, according to general manager Brett Veach. The surgery had a three-month recovery.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has recorded a league-best 102 completions on throws of at least 20 yards downfield since the start of the 2018 season, according to Pro Football Focus.
Huddle Up: It should come as no surprise that the leader of the NFL's most explosive passing offense - paired with perhaps the league's most dynamic deep-ball threat in Tyreek Hill - would find himself atop the leaderboard in such a category. Most of the band is expected back - with the possible exception of Sammy Watkins - for Kansas City in 2021, so Mahomes should be primed for another run at overall QB1 honors in fantasy and plenty of long completions yet again.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (foot) will undergo surgery Wednesday, Feb. 10, on a torn plantar plate in his foot, which is also known as turf toe. He will likely be idle most of the offseason to recover.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes needed 3.51 seconds on average to throw the ball in the Super Bowl LV loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Pro Football Focus. In the Chiefs' first 18 games of the season, his average throw time was 2.86.
Huddle Up: The stat makes it appear as if Mahomes was indecisive in the Super Bowl, but it's actually a testament to his elusiveness in this case. The Chiefs bafflingly opted to give their franchise quarterback five-man protection on over 90 percent of his throws despite playing with backup offensive tackles and questionable talent in the interior of their line. It speaks volumes that Mahomes only took three sacks despite getting pressured nearly 30 times.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (toe) is expected to see a foot specialist after Super Bowl LV and will likely need to undergo surgery because of turf toe, according to multiple sources. The injury is considered significant enough that it won't heal on its own.
Huddle Up: Despite the injury, Mahomes will start Super Bowl LV and should still be viewed as the higher-upside quarterback option between himself and Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady for postseason fantasy games.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (toe) fully participated in practice Friday, Feb. 5, and is not on the injury report for Super Bowl LV.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (toe) practiced in full Thursday, Feb. 4.
Huddle Up: Mahomes wore a special orthotic in the AFC Championship and didn't appear to be limited in any way. With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fielding an elite run defense, it will be almost entirely on his shoulders to pass the Chiefs to victory in Super Bowl LV. It should come as no surprise if he attempts 50-plus passes in this game, and he has to be the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl MVP for a second straight year if Kansas City defends its title.
