New York Jets QB Sam Darnold is working out with WR Denzel Mims this weekend.
Huddle Up: Darnold will have several new receivers to work with this upcoming season and is starting to build chemistry with Mims. Darnold probably should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues in 2020, while Mims could be a late round option.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold is 'one of the best young quarterbacks in this league,' according to former NFL quarterback Jordan Palmer, who has trained him since Darnold's predraft process in 2018.
'I've said this a bunch, Sam is one of the best young quarterbacks in this league. He has everything. You talk to smart coaches around the league, Sam is one of those guys that they put in a different category. It's just going to be a matter of time for him. I feel like this offseason with the disarray and how crazy it's been, he's been so consistent every day doing the same things and just being methodical with his work, communicating with his teammates. He's heading into Year 2 with this system and with Sam, I don't think it's big, major changes. I think he has to continue to stay the course and he's done that,' Palmer recently said on ESPN's NFL Live.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold was accurate on 52 percent of his throws that traveled more than five yards downfield in 2019. Every other qualified quarterback was 57.1 percent accurate on similar throws.
Huddle Up: This is the kind of thing that can happen to a quarterback when he has to deal with the combination of receivers not getting open quickly enough and the offensive line failing to hold up. Fortunately, he had Jamison Crowder to help him out with the short stuff, as the duo hooked up 70 times in the 13 games Darnold played. With the Jets making serious upgrades all along the offensive line, drafting Denzel Mims and getting Chris Herndon back, look for Darnold to be a solid fantasy QB2 in 2020.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold was 43.8 percent accurate on play-action passes last season - the lowest such mark in the league.
Huddle Up: This kind of thing can happen when a team doesn't have much of an offensive line and a receiver capable of threatening defenses downfield consistently. The Jets bolstered their offensive line this offseason and should now have a receiver in Denzel Mims who can make more plays downfield. Darnold figures to remain firmly in QB2 territory for fantasy purposes, but he should be more consistent in 2020.
