New York Jets QB Sam Darnold has impressed Jets wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson in his second season. 'It's everything,' Jefferson said of Darnold. 'The way that he works -- he's here early in the morning, he stays after, he probably doesn't leave this building until six, seven at night. He's in the old quarterback room. I've been so impressed with this kids work ethic and the way he attacks everything. It's just been awesome to see a young kid like that. It's almost like he's been here before. He's a young guy, but he has a lot of veteran attributes to him.'
Huddle Up: Darnold now has a year under his belt, and his supporting cast has improved, but he's still a low-end QB2 at best right now for fantasy purposes.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold called new head coach Adam Gase 'awesome' and added he is looking forward to his second NFL season. 'It's going to be fun to attack this year,' Darnold said Tuesday, April 23, at the team's voluntary minicamp. '... Good things to come.'
Huddle Up: Darnold showed some definite flashes as a rookie, throwing for 2,865 yards, 17 TDs and 15 interceptions in 13 games while finishing 27th among fantasy QBs. A jump to QB2 range in Year 2 is certainly on the table.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold's 80.7 Total QBR over the final four weeks of the 2018 season was the best mark in the NFL.
Huddle Up: Darnold has his share of ups and downs as a rookie, but the strong finish could be a glimpse of what's to come. He should be viewed as a QB2 for now, but he could make the jump to QB1 sooner rather than later, especially if the Jets add some offensive weapons this offseason.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold has a bright future, according to former standout CB Darrelle Revis. 'I think he (Darnold) can bring a Super Bowl in the near future for the Jets,' Revis told TMZ last week in Atlanta before Super Bowl LIII. 'It's going to take some time, but I feel like he's capable of doing it.'
Huddle Up: As a rookie last season, Darnold threw for 2,865 yards, 17 TDs and 13 interceptions in 13 games while compiling a 4-9 QB won-loss record. Still, playing with a depleted surrounding cast and not much help, Darnold was better than the numbers showed and will be on the QB2 radar this summer.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold said he is 'excited' to work with head coach Adam Gase and believes Gase can make him a better quarterback. 'I think he's going to help me with everything, mechanics, but mainly how to play the position in the NFL,' Darnold said.
Huddle Up: Darnold had an inconsistent rookie year, but his potential flashed at times. Another year of experience should only help, especially if the Jets add some more weapons in the offseason. Consider him a QB2 heading into 2019.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold went 16-for-28 for 167 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 17. He also rushed for 28 yards on one carry during the game.
Huddle Up: Darnold played well at times this season and will finish the season with 17 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He likely will have a new head coach and offensive coordinator to work with next season but probably should only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in 2019.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.
Huddle Up: Darnold has played well over the last several weeks but will be facing a solid New England Patriots defense this week. He can be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues but likely will be avoided in most standard leagues.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (foot) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 27.
Huddle Up: Darnold is coming off one of his best games of the season and has thrown five touchdowns in the last two games. He could have some success against the New England Patriots but probably should only be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (foot) was listed as a full participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 26.
Huddle Up: Darnold appears to be fine for the regular-season finale against the Patriots, but he is still nothing more than a QB2 in seasonal fantasy leagues for Week 17.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold completed 24 of his 35 passes for a career-high 341 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-38 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 16.
Huddle Up: Although the Jets ended up losing, Darnold delivered what is probably his best performance so far. A strong finish to the year could help set the stage for a big leap out of him in 2019.
