Updating an earlier report, New Orleans Saints TE Adam Trautman (foot) had X-rays taken of his foot come back negative Monday, Aug. 23. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday, Aug. 24, as he's still experiencing some pain.
Huddle Up: Trautman has garnered some sleeper TE2 buzz so we'll see what the MRI reveals. If he's set to miss significant time, Juwan Johnson might warrant some attention.

New Orleans Saints TE Adam Trautman (ankle, foot) left the field on a cart with an apparent ankle or foot injury in the first quarter of a preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday, Aug. 23.
Huddle Up: Stay tuned. Trautman has been a popular sleeper pick all summer long, although it could be argued Juwan Johnson has stood out more during camp. If Trautman's injury turns out to be serious, Johnson would be a worthwhile TE2 addition in all leagues given that he is a former receiver who would be a matchup nightmare for most defenses.

New Orleans Saints TE Adam Trautman said he is excited about his bigger role in the passing game this season. Trautman is expected to be the starting tight end for the Saints.
Huddle Up: Trautman caught 15 passes for 171 yards during his rookie season but should see a lot more targets this season. Fantasy players can monitor him during the preseason, but he probably can be considered a No. 2 fantasy tight end in 2021.

New Orleans Saints TE Adam Trautman was the highest rated run blocker among qualifying tight ends in 2020, according to Pro Football Focus.
Huddle Up: The rookie didn't have much of an impact in the passing game, but his prowess as a run blocker and the potential departure of Jared Cook could lead to an increased role in 2021.

New Orleans Saints TE Adam Trautman may allow the team to use more two-tight end sets this upcoming season, according to tight ends coach Dan Campbell.

New Orleans Saints third-round pick TE Adam Trautman entered college as a quarterback and gained 40 lbs in his transition to tight end. He caught a school-record 70 passes with 916 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2019.
Huddle Up: Trautman may take a couple of years to develop into a fantasy asset at tight end. He's only an option in dynasty formats.
