Free-agent QB Justin Fields officially signed with the New York Jets Thursday, March 13.
Huddle Up: Fields has his flaws as a passer, but his production as a runner helps prop up his stat lines. He should be a serviceable QB2.

Free-agent QB Justin Fields (Steelers) agreed to a two-year deal worth $40 million with the New York Jets, according to sources Monday, March 10. The deal includes $30 million guaranteed.
Huddle Up: The Jets got rid of Davante Adams, but Fields proved he can still provide fantasy value in a pinch. He'll be New York's starter and has a decent supporting cast around him with Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall. He's still a QB2 option due to his limitations as a passer, but there's weekly upside given his rushing ability.

Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent QB Justin Fields is open to re-signing with the Steelers but wants to see what other teams are offering before making a decision.
Huddle Up: Fields is expected to receive interest from at least the New York Jets when free agency begins but could return to the Steelers. Fantasy players should monitor the situation over the next few days because Fields could be a possible low-end No. 1 quarterback in some leagues if he starts for a team in 2025.

Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent QB Justin Fields is garnering the most interest from the New York Jets, according to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports.
Huddle Up: Fields has had his inconsistencies as a passer, but he was solid in his starts for Pittsburgh last year, and he is always a threat to run the ball. His dual-threat ability gives Fields QB potential if he is a starter in 2025.

Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent QB Justin Fields is reportedly more likely to return to the team than Russell WIlson, according to sources via NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.
Huddle Up: Fields was famously replaced by Wilson after going 4-2 this season. As NFL Network's Mike Garafolo stated on "The Insiders," there was some thought that Pittsburgh scaled back the offense to keep the pressure off Fields since the intention all along was to have Wilson start in 2024. Fields is more than 10 years younger than Wilson, who did not make much of a case to retain the starting job with a poor finish to the season. Fields' dual-threat ability will give him theoretical QB1 upside for as long as he remains one of the best athletes on the field, but Pittsburgh needs to add some more weapons in order for that to happen.

Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent QB Justin Fields appears to be the more likely candidate for the Steelers to re-sign this offseason than impending free-agent QB Russell Wilson, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler.
Huddle Up: The Steelers have indicated they would like to sign either Fields or Wilson, but it seems like Fields has more momentum at this point. Fantasy players should monitor the situation over the next few weeks, but neither quarterback will likely be more than a No. 2 fantasy quarterback at this point.

The Indianapolis Colts reportedly have Minnesota Vikings QB Daniel Jones, Pittsburgh Steelers QB Justin Fields, Dallas Cowboys QB Trey Lance and New England Patriots QB Jacoby Brissett on their radar as they search for veteran quarterback options to compete with QB Anthony Richardson for the team's starting quarterback job in 2025.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly told people at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine that they are not enamored with this year's rookie quarterback class, according to Tony Pauline of SportsKeeda.com, who describes the odds of the team drafting a quarterback with their top draft pick in the middle of the first round as "slim to none." Multiple sources believe that the Steelers want to move forward by re-signing impending free-agent QB Justin Fields to an extension.
Huddle Up: The Steelers will not be the only team competing for Fields' services in free agency. He experienced a decent amount of success last season despite limited playing time and should be able to find a starting quarterback job somewhere in 2025. Depending on where he lands, Fields could be a low-end QB1 or high-end QB2 option in fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers impending quarterback QB Russell Wilson, Steelers impending free-agent QB Justin Fields and Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Sam Darnold are expected to receive interest from the Las Vegas Raiders during free agency, according to sources.
Huddle Up: The Raiders had interest in Matthew Stafford but will now have to consider one of the free-agent quarterbacks to sign this offseason. The Raiders have some good pass catchers on the roster, but whoever is the starting quarterback probably will be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in 2025.

Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent QB Justin Fields is open to a return to the Steelers, but the New York Jets are "a sleeper option" whom Fields has looked at and "sees some intrigue," according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Huddle Up: It makes a ton of sense since Fields also desires a clear path to being a starter and would represent a clear upgrade over Tyrod Taylor. New York does not lack for talent offensively, as Fields showed in 2023 with Chicago that he can support an alpha receiver, so Garrett Wilson would remain a solid fantasy WR1. The run threat of Fields should also open up running lanes for Breece Hall. Fields' dual-threat abilities would give him a chance to be a solid fantasy QB1 option if he signs in New York.
