Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson is expected to start over QB Justin Fields in Week 7, per sources on Saturday, Oct. 19.
Huddle Up: It was only a matter of time before the Steelers went to Wilson, who is finally healthy. Fields did a solid job in his six starters, but his passing left a lot to be desired and Pittsburgh's offense simply wasn't good enough overall for him to cement the job. Wilson provides a clear upgrade as a passer, which should provide a boost to all Steelers pass-catchers, especially George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth. With this being his 2024 debut, Wilson is best left on the bench until we see how he acclimates, but he could be a QB2 option moving forward. Meanwhile, it's worth holding on to Fields for now just in case Wilson crashes and burns and the Steelers go back to their younger option.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Justin Fields completed 14 of his 24 passes for 145 yards and rushed 11 times for 59 yards and two touchdowns in a 32-13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6.
Huddle Up: Fields had a forgettable day throwing the ball, but he topped 50 rushing yards for the second time in three games, and he has four rushing scores in that span. As long as Fields remains the starter, his upside as a runner makes him a QB2 with streaming potential.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) is expected to be active for the first time this season and will act as the backup quarterback behind Justin Fields in Week 6, head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Friday, Oct. 11.
Huddle Up: Wilson was a full participant all week so this situation will need to be monitored moving forward considering the Steelers could make a switch at quarterback at some point in the future. For now, though, Fields is a fringe Qb1 option.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson (calf) is expected to be a full participant at practice this week, head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Tuesday, Oct. 8. Wilson will work with the second-team offense in an effort to not disrupt Justin Fields' preparation for the Week 6 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Huddle Up: It will be interesting to see what the plan is for Wilson once he's fully ready to go. He doesn't need to be rostered, but the situation bears monitoring.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Justin Fields will remain the starter for the Week 6 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Huddle Up: Russell Wilson is getting closer to being a full participant in practice, but Fields is still the starter entering Week 6. He's a fringe QB1 option for managers to consider.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Justin Fields finished 15-of-27 for 131 yards and two touchdowns in Week 5 versus the Dallas Cowboys. Fields also ran six times for 27 yards.
Huddle Up: While offensive coordinator Arthur Smith has done wonders for Fields in regards to cutting down his turnovers, it is a bit maddening that Fields is not being unleashed more often on an offense that lacks playmakers after George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth. However, part of that might be the product of how Pittsburgh wants to play, which means relying on a power-running game and its defense. Fields will likely remain the starting quarterback ahead of Russell Wilson and probably serve as a game manager again in Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR George Pickens has caught 20 of 29 targets (69% catch rate) for 284 yards and 12 first downs through four games with Justin Fields as his quarterback. Last season, Pickens hauled in 64 of 107 targets (59.8) for 1154 yards and five touchdowns from Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph and Mitchell Trubisky.
Huddle Up: Fantasy managers were likely hoping for a faster start from Pickens given how he ended last year, but a conservative offense and a couple of difficult primary matchups against A.J. Terrell (Atlanta Falcons) and Pat Surtain (Denver Broncos) have kept his production down a bit. With four of his Pittsburgh's next five games coming against the Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants and Washington Commanders, Pickens could be poised for huge fantasy production over the next month or so.
