Pittsburgh Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth (knee) was diagnosed with a medial collateral sprain that will not require surgery Monday, Jan. 9.
Huddle Up: Although it means Freiermuth won't begin the offseason healthy, it does mean he should be able to train normally in about a month. Freiermuth seemed to be Kenny Pickett's most trusted target in 2022, which suggests he needs to be considered a top-eight tight end option - at worst - in fantasy drafts this spring and summer.

Huddle Up: It seems like Freiermuth may not be available if the Steelers advance to the playoffs. Fantasy players should keep an eye on the situation to determine the severity of the injury.

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth (personal) was a full participant in practice for the second-straight day on Friday, Dec. 30, and was taken off the injury report.
Huddle Up: In the midst of a breakout year, Freiermuth has fully established himself as a TE1 in his second season, and has done so despite a rocky situation at quarterback, making it even more impressive. He's a locked-in starter for fantasy championships.

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 29.
Huddle Up: Freiermuth has shown a good connection with Kenny Pickett this season and should see a handful of targets this week. He can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in most leagues.
